Emerald packed up her home nice and neatly. A neighbor would help make sure the plants didn't die, and she would keep robbers and pokemon away from the house. If everything worked out, Emerald could start a job or two and return for a bit. She didn't sleep at all the night before the day of getting her starter. She was so excited! She looked at the sun rise, picked some flowers for her mentor, and even had time for some last-minute cleaning before she left. She was seventeen, but she felt like she was thirty--but in a good way. She didn't know what kind of flowers her mentor liked, but she made sure to get star flowers. They represented hope. And it was everything Emerald felt that day: hope.
She walked to Port city, to the Emissary's lab to get a pokemon. Well, the girl skipped more than anything, but with it being so early, no one was really awake to care. The pokemon had also been asleep, with the sun barely fully revealing itself. Emerald walked in to the building she had been told was where to get a pokemon, and she waited to be called for her meeting with her mentor, and, hopefully, her new best friend.
While sitting, waiting for her opportunities to open up, she fantasized what the woman would be like. She heard stories, and some were afraid of the power the woman exuded. She was fierce, and Emerald was excited. She really wanted a strong person to help her on her mission. She wanted someone who was no-nonsense, as Emerald was all nonsense. She hoped they would hit it off well, and she became jittery thinking about the interchange that would soon happen. What if she doesn't even like me; or worse, dismisses me? Emerald thought about this for a while. She really hoped it didn't turn into that.

When Emerald entered The Emissary she would see a clean white desk in the middle of the large hall. A woman would be busy flipping through papers, she did pause as Emerald took a seat near the front desk before placing her pile of papers down. She adjusted her thick rimed glasses as she read off a clipboard, “Emerald Price?” As the young girl approached, the desk attendant smiled brightly. “Anita Nguyen is expecting you. Please take the door on the right and up the stairs, to her office. Good luck trainer.” When Emerald reached the office she would be greeted by a tall woman in a sharp navy suit. She wore matching earrings that glinted from the morning light streaming through the large window. “Good morning, I am Anita Nguyen, the Ambassador of the colonies. You are Emerald, I presume?” After the introductions were taken care the mentor gestured for Emerald to take a seat at her desk as she pulled out a vase from a cabinet to place the flowers. She then sat down in her large chair across from the new trainer. Anita reached into her large dark to retrieve 5 pokeballs. “Let’s get started, shall we?” In a quick motion, the mentor tapped each pokeball causing a flash of white light to take over the room. When the light dimmed five pokemon stood in the office. “I have chosen each of these pokemon to help with your research and aid in caring for plants. Skiddo is rumored to have been the first pokemon to be tamed by man on the old Earth,” said pokemon started to approach the soon-to-be-trainer slowly. It gently sniffed at the hand that had been holding the flowers and let out a happy bah. “They would be useful in carrying supplies and samples you gather on long trips.” A blue pokemon with a large tail with a ball at the end started bouncing around happily, with a brown long maned pokemon playfully chasing it. The pair ran in a circle around the trainer taking no notice to the seriousness of the situation. “Those are Azurill and Eevee. Azurill would be good at tending to plants, and Eevee can change to into several diferent types once you figure out what you need exactly. I feel these two suit your personality best.” “The last two are Castform and Gible. Castform can control the weather in an area to help tend to crops. Gible has a strong bite, which can help splicing samples that are too tough for a knife and help dig up plants by their roots.” The mentor took the time to hand over a pamphlet. "You may also select a pokemon in that pamphlet if these are not to your liking." Anita leaned back in her chair watching the young girl closely. “The choice is yours.”

"Hello! Hi! How are you? I cannot wait for our journeys to open up together!" She handed the woman flowers and hoped her impression was not too much. Her mentor could not get too annoyed with the girl, so after the flowers were given, Emerald sat quietly while her new mentor spoke. Then, in a flash, five pokemon appeared in front of her.
The skiddo looked absolutely gorgeous. It sniffed her hand, apparently liking the scent of nature she had. He would do well in the garden and forests of Mi-aro. She smiled at the pokemon, and looked at the other choices. Already anxiety was creeping up.
The eevee and azurill looked like the perfect combination. She would prefer to take both, seeing as how well they got on. But that would probably not work out. She smiled, looking down, and greeted the two. They were both the best fit for her personality? But she could only take one. It hurt her, being told these options.
Every pokemon had its own journey to be unfolded, and Emerald could only be a part of one of those journeys. What if one of the pokemon really wanted to be with her? They wouldn't say, would they? How many had each pokemon been rejected before? Was one tired of it? This all passed through her mind as she looked at the castform and gible.
All of these pokemon had a clear purpose and role in the group Emerald was forming. "So I can't just take them all, huh?" She was joking of course, but a deep undertone of melancholy was in the sentence. She looked at the gible and castform and smiled. "Hi!" She looked at each of the pokemon one more time. Gible had a nice sheen to him, and he seemed like a good, stable pokemon for journeying through the unknown. And he could help with splicing. Castform could keep a crop very healthy, so if she wanted a shop it would be the prime pokemon.
"Eevee looks so amazing. And Azuril. They would be so much help to my endeavors. But..." Emerald's voice cracked as she spoke, her eyes slightly tearing up. She wanted nothing more than to run out of the room and go back home. But she couldn't. This was what she needed to do, pick a pokemon. It is so simple, she thought. Why couldn't she do this? She was about to start crying, but she stopped herself. "Can you tell me when these pokemon get a nice partner, please? I don't think I could sleep if I knew they were just being kept alone for most of their lives. I pick. Um. Gible."
Emerald was a researcher first. She would create the best fruits and berries and plants for Mi-aro. She needed a pokemon that was active, could attack when in danger, and could help her in her work. This was gible. She looked at the pokemon and flashed a smile. She put the pamphlet on the table, and waited for her mentor to speak.

((Duuuude. Why didn't you mention that this was never finished? Gotta use the Mod Reqs ~ ))
Anita allowed a smile to cross her features at the girl's questioning. How adorable. She even returned a nod to her question of letting it be known when her options were chosen. The Ambassador withdrew the other four Pokemon and handed the girl Gible's pokeball. From there, the woman flicked her eyes to the shelves behind which were stacked full of items, some Emerald recognize and some that were completely alien.
"You may choose two survivor and two trainer items from those shelves. Also, please choose either a Dex of Photo Chip." (under 35coin)
Ms. Nguyen opened one of her desk drawers and brought out an X-gear with a Holo Chip, a Data Log, a Mortar and Pestle, as well as four pokeballs, which she slid to the end of the desk for the trainer.
---
The mentor patiently waited for the girl to choose her items before speaking again, "If things move forward as I predict, we will soon have access to another wild area of Mi-aro. Although this is an assumption, I do believe that it is likely that we'll find many new plant species there." Anita gave Emerald a nod, "But first, you need to get to Pallet."
Anita stood and made her way to the door. "Let me know as soon as you get there and we'll talk more. If you need anything along the way, feel free to contact me." With a sincere smile she added, "Any questions?"
You may choose Gible's name, gender, ability, personality, and 1 egg move

[attr="class","page"] [attr="class","turning"] Emerald smiled at the woman, happy that she would be able to keep track of the pokemon she could not take. If they took long to find a home, and if Emerald could prove herself, maybe one of them could be be hers again! She hoped, though all of the pokemon seemed quite amazing, and she knew a home for them would come soon. Wishful thinking always paid off!
With the options Anita told her, she got up and looked herself. "I think...a raw Corka...feral pokemon like that, right? And of course some flint and steel to make a fire--I know the driest wood to burn.
A spile would be very handy in tricky situations, and it would even let me know which trees are most hydrated! I think the photo chip and some pokemon food also is the best bet! I should stock up, huh?" She smiled back at the pokemon while Anita spoke, rolling the ball in her hands. She looked at the woman and replied, "Yes! I think I am going to look around a bit and stock up here, then head off before noon! Thank you so much, and expect many texts from me!" She had now gained a large sense of purpose. New Pallet was her first mission, albeit a common rite for most survivors and mercenaries.
Name - Gender - Male Ability - Rough Skin Personality - Though a tough, scaly, course pokemon, Gible is actually a large puppy. He jumps up and down, wags his tail, and licks people. However, because of the short length of his tongue, he often looks like he is biting people. His skin is course and rough, though he loves being touches and scratched. Anita looked at the young trainer with a small smile. “My number is pre-programed into your X-Gear. Do not hesitate to call if you require assistance.” She extended her hand for a final good-bye, “I wish you luck on your journey.”
Thread Closed!
Make sure you add your new items to your inventory.
Also Gible is only lvl. 1 in PokeXation, therefore he should only know moves up to lvl. 5 in the games. (ie Tackle, Sand Attack, and Egg Move)
