| Ignis simply nodded in acknowledgement of the woman's thanks, and followed her inside. He knew Gwen was going to come back, and he wanted to make sure the woman was still here waiting so she could receive her bag. Now what was keeping them? Surely it wouldn't take Sakura too long to knock out a couple of measly anorith?
Sakura's attack had been a success, and maybe a bit too much of a success because she ended up sending it flying all the way onto a rooftop. "Nice hit... I guess." Gwen commented optimistically, though how were they going to get that anorith now, she'd have to think of something. Out of the corner of her eye though, she noticed the other anorith's leg twitch, and realized it was about to wake up again. Well, that was fast. Deciding to take care of that one first, she grabbed a premier ball from her bag and threw it at the Anorith on the ground.
While that capture was happening, Gwen pondered on how to solve their roofed Anorith problem. "Ah. I know. Back in your ball Sakura." She said, returning the Mawile to it's poke ball. She then threw the ball up onto the roof with the Anorith, releasing the Mawile on top. "Now use bite and toss it down." Gwen said, catching the ball after it rolled off the sloped roof.
Sakura nodded, and and lunged at the Anorith with her jaws and snatched the bug up, before tossing it back to the ground where it landed at Gwen's feet. She then peeked over the edge of the rooftop, staring tentatively at the drop. Yeah... She probably wouldn't be able to jump and land without getting hurt. <Now how do I get down?> She called down at her trainer.
When the anorith landed at her feet, Gwen immediately threw a premier ball at it. Then looking back up at her pokemon, and though she couldn't understand it, she could see it's conundrum. That was a pretty high drop and though being a steel type meant it could take some damage, it was always better to avoid it. "Return?" She said tentatively as she tried to return Sakura to her ball again.
Unfortunately, though the red beam shot out, it fell short of the height needed to reach Sakura. That wasn't going to work. After a bit more thought, she decided on her next plan. "Here, catch!" Gwen said, throwing the ball up to Sakura who caught it in her hands. "Now press the button and return yourself." She told her, and once the Mawile did as instructed it was sucked up into the ball, and the ball promptly rolled off the roof, and was once again caught by Gwen. She then turned to the two poke balls to see if the anorith had been captured yet.

The commotion that would come of noticing the woman’s wounds would cause nearly everyone in the room to forget that the Charmander had entered with the woman- save for one little girl who happened to be peaking around the corner and giggling despite herself. She couldn’t have been more than five, and with her mother distracted by taking care of the other woman, she was left to stare at the interesting lizard-thingy.
The ball smacked into the Anorith, opened, and drew him in. For a few moments the ball shook surprisingly hard, as if even semi-conscious the Bug/Rock type did not wish to be contained. However, it settled and rang in capture after a minute. Phew.
Name: Species: Anorith Gender: Male Lvl: 1 Ability: Your choice Personality: This Anorith would like to think that he was a hardy individual- now whether that’s true or not is certainly debatable. He tries his best in any given situation and has a surprisingly long fuse for social matters. That being said, once focused on something, he tends to become… obsessive about that one thing. TP: 35
Upon the roof, Sakura would have found not a fainted Anorith but something fighting for consciousness… and the fact that she then bit that and threw it at the ground was… well rather cruel one could say considering upon impact the Anorith lost complete consciousness. Whoops…Anyways, with the ball thrown at him, the Anorith was sucked in and caught rather quickly.
Name: Species: Anorith Gender: Female Lvl: 1 Ability: Your choice Personality: This Anorith is rather irritable, mistrusting, and just generally fearful of… well… a certain Mawile for one and a certain woman for another. She tries to keep to herself now… readily ignoring most if not everyone unless they catch his interest- which in that case she is quick to become obsessive. TP: 40
Whelp, that took care of that didn't it?

| Gwen watched as the poke balls rocked back and forth briefly, until a monotonous tone indicated that the captures had been successful. She picked up both poke balls, though upon doing so one immediately vanished from her hands. Right, I have a full team now. She thought. A full team of mostly feral anorith, but a full team nonetheless.
Looking at the one that remained with her though, she felt a little bad for it. Getting knocked off the roof that was pretty harsh. More harsh than getting launched up on the roof? Who knew, and the bugs armor probably still softened the blow anyway. Something told her though, that she'd have to put some special work into gaining this particular Anorith's trust.
The streets were once again as quiet as they were when she first begun her search here, which was good. She wasn't looking to pick any more fights out here, not when she only Sakura with her, who wasn't quite in top shape after battling the pair of anorith. Her goal now, was reaching the Inn and meeting up with Ignis and that woman again who hopefully had gotten the help she needed.
Gwen stopped momentarily as she reached the alleyway she had originally encountered the woman and the anorith in, but found it completely deserted. Either Ignis had succeeded... or had gone missing along with the woman. Gwen didn't consider that though, she knew full well that the Charmander wouldn't fail her easily. Moving on, she soon reached the inn and went inside.
Ignis, who wasn't paying any attention to the little girl, instead looked up at Gwen as she came inside. "Char!" He greeted as he walked up to her, pointing towards where the woman they saved had been sat down to be treated.
"Good work Ignis." She praised. She then turned and approached the lady, setting down her bag on the table she sat by. "Hello Ma'am. My name is Gwendolyn Steele, I was the trainer who helped save you from those Anorith. I came back to return your things." She informed her, indicating the bag she had set down. She then looked at the woman's arm which was being wrapped up. "I'm very sorry about your arm." She apologized sheepishly. It had been an accident of course, but hopefully the woman was understanding. She had still saved her life and returned her belongings, weird berry and all.

Since initially having taken notice of the Charmander, the little girl had slowly but surely ebbed her way over towards the fire lizard, a look of interest in her eyes. She’d been about a foot away and ready to reach the last distance to pat the strange pokemon when Gwen had opened the door causing her to jump briefly and glance sideways. Looking from Ignis to Gwen and then back again, the young girl grinned ear to ear making the connection between trainer and pokemon.
Meanwhile the woman who had since been cleaned up and bandaged was now sitting on one of the inn chairs, a cup of tea clasped in one hand as she sipped it carefully to try and calm her otherwise frayed nerves. As Gwen had come through the inn doors, brown eyes had glanced up, and a tentative smile had come to the woman’s features. As her bag was produced and set down, the woman briefly glanced at the object of her initial misfortune with an almost hollow look. Brown eyes raised themselves again focusing more on Gwen as she spoke explaining that who she was and what she’d done. A part of her knew- or rather had caught a glance of Gwen as the woman had thrown her bag, and due to the Charmander’s reaction to his trainer. As she apologized, a small half smile came to the woman’s features. “No it’s… thank you,” she said rather than saying the ‘fine’ that had been on her lips initially. It wasn’t fine… she’d been saved from a mess of pokemon even if it had ruined her day and what she had been doing. Living was better than dying for certain. “Thank you…” the woman mumbled again glancing down at her tea in one hand. +1 Connection

| "You're very welcome." Gwen said, smiling a bit as well, though she wasn't sure at this point how to proceed. The woman seemed a bit curt, and she wasn't sure if it was because of exhaustion, or if she just wanted her to leave her be. She could just part ways then and they could leave the encounter behind them. She did want to see to the injuries Anorith #5 had sustained.
With the woman and the berry in the inn however, dealing with that didn't seem like a good idea right this moment. Even if she had booked a room to take care of it privately in, it would be disastrous if it managed to escape. This woman already seemed to be having a rough day, and making it worse probably would just give the woman less reason to be grateful. "Care for some company?" She asked, pulling up a seat for herself.
Ignis kept with his trainer quietly, letting her take care of what else she had to do here. Without much else to distract himself though, he finally realized he was being watched. His eyelids drooped in an exasperated manner as his gaze fell on the tiny human. A little kid? Well, this couldn't end well for his dignity. Deciding he wasn't going to bow to anymore cutsy antics, he simply jumped up onto the woman's table to get away from the child. Oh wait, the woman was there and she probably still liked him enough to want to pet him again. Drat!

In truth it was exhaustion over the entire situation that made the woman’s words short. A part of her was aware that she probably could have said more, but what at the moment, she knew not herself. No, for now, she’d trust what she could say- which was thanks. Glancing down at her cup again, she felt a pang of guilt for having nothing to really offer the other woman in thanks of her service. As Gwen pulled the chair up and asked if she wished for some company, the woman glanced up again a tentative smile on her face as she tried to find the words to say. “Certainly…” she murmured after a moment. “M-my name is Anya…” she started upon realizing that she hadn’t said who she was when Gwen outright said what her name was. Briefly, she glanced down again a small half sigh at herself.
The sudden jump of the Charmander on the table made the woman jump a little in surprise, but upon seeing him there, she smiled a little. “Hello again…” she noted finding it a tad easier to speak to the pokemon than to the trainer. Meanwhile, the younger girl paused briefly in step upon watching the Charmander before frowning a little and walking over to Gwen, tugging at her shirt or sleeve or whatever she could get ahold of. “Isssat your lizzzard?” the young girl asked almost inquisitively.

| When the woman agreed, Gwen took her seat at the table. "It's nice to meet you." Gwen responded once Anya had given her name. A woman then came by offering her tea, which Gwen accepted. She took a sip and it was that moment when Ignis jumped up onto the table, which was fortunate because he might have ended up spilling her drink had she not been holding it.
Anya however, appeared a little more happy to speak to her charmander, so Gwen held back on reprimanding him for jumping up so suddenly. "This, would be Ignis." said Gwen, smiling at the lizard pokemon. "I received both him and my Mawile from the lab early this morning. We've pretty much been spending most of our first day helping to round up those Anorith." Gwen went on, more for the sake of conversation than anything else, and she hoped chatting might help Anya get her mind off her current stress.
"Char." He responded when Anya said hello to him. His tone was friendly, more or less. Though he had no more need to be pleasant at this point now that he had completed his orders, he also couldn't really bring himself to be so two-faced either. Besides, if it was a choice between being friendly toward Anya, and dealing with the child, he'd rather make friends with Anya. He just wasn't a kid friendly pokemon.
Gwen intended to go on, and prompt Anya to speak, but before she could ask anything, she suddenly felt a tug on her shirt. Looking down, she gave the little girl a friendly smile. "Yes, yes it is. His name is Ignis and he's a Charmander." Gwen told the little girl. Seeing the sideways glances Ignis was giving the child however, she could tell he wanted nothing to do with the little girl. She couldn't really dismiss the girl right now though, any attempt this early would make it a little obvious that she was trying to get rid of her, and Gwen certainly didn't want to upset the child.

As the name of the Charmander was given, the woman gave a small nod, her brown eyes glancing to Gwen briefly before back at Ignis. She’d only had him for less than a day? And had been spending it dealing with the swarms, ah. Briefly she recanted that the trainer program had started full speed more recently, and it made sense that new trainers were helping get rid of the random pokemon. What had caused this in the first place anyways? Did anyone know? “I’ve never had a pokemon,” Anya admitted after a moment. She had never considered owning one for the simple fact that meant one more mouth to feed, and she didn’t have the funds as she saw it anyways. Not right now, anyways. When the little girl appeared, or rather when her eyes finally registered that there was another presence there, Anya half smiled briefly nervously raising a hand to brush a few stray hairs away from her face before glancing down at the mug again.
A grin of sorts raised the little girl’s features before she made a directional point at Ignis. “Can I play with hiwm?” she asked glancing then at Ignis again.

| It wasn't at all surprising that the child indeed wasn't satisfied knowing who and what Ignis was, and that she wanted to play with him. Ignis shifted himself away from the kid as much as he could, still making it clear that he wanted nothing to do with the child. Though Ignis thought his body language was pretty clear, it seemed the child didn't seem to get the picture.
Thinking quickly, Gwen smiled gently at the child, but shook her head. "I'm sorry, but Ignis has been battling pretty hard today and he's not in good shape to play. Where's your mother? Maybe she can help you find someone who can play with you?" She suggested. On cue, Ignis plopped down on his rump and rubbed his cheek gingerly where the Anorith had scratched him earlier. Gwen certainly didn't lie, and hopefully the child was capable of understanding why Ignis was unable to play with her.
Returning to her conversation with Anya, she nodded in understanding when she told her about never owning a pokemon. "It's not always easy to take care of a pokemon, but they can be rewarding too." It certainly didn't hurt to have one around for protection too, though Gwen decided not to voice that particular point. She didn't want to come off as condescending or anything after all, and she was sure Anya had considered that herself.
A moment later, one of the Inn's staff came by to refill their tea, and Gwen turned to them. "Excuse me, but some of my pokemon need medical treatment, could you take them to the nurse please?" She requested. The woman nodded, and Gwen returned Ignis to his ball and it over along with the rest of her pokemon's to be cared for. Gwen eyed the woman as she walked away to give her pokemon to the resident pokemon nurse, before turning back to Anya again. "Well, if you ever consider getting yourself a pokemon, I'm sure you could head to either the lab or emissary and apply for a starter for yourself." She went on.
Gwen leaned back in her chair, and took another sip of her tea. "So, where were you headed today, before everything happened?" She asked conversationally. Sure, it probably wasn't anything more special than what most civilians did. Probably just running some errand or another. Then again though, most of the townsfolk had opted to stay inside while the town was on alert over the anorith swarming, at least from what she observed from the decreased activity on the streets. Maybe there was something a little more important about her ill fated adventure that had gone quite wrong.

Big eyes flashed over to the fire lizard and then back to Gwen before the child slowly nodded understanding. Battling was a lot of work! Or so Mommy said!
Meanwhile Anya tried not to sigh. Why did pokemon even come into the city to begin with? Weren’t they supposedly scared of humans or something like that? Or at least wary enough to not come into the city? She could maybe understand New Pallet that was somewhat farther out in the wilderness but Port City had been established for twenty five years now!
As the woman came by and refilled Anya’s cup with warm tea and the request was made, the child seemed to perk up again. “Mommy,” she started before rather quickly attaching to her mother’s leg ready to jabber on about the Charmander. Meanwhile the mother glanced down briefly and pat her on the head before glancing to Gwen and nodding that she’d fulfill the request before doing so walking away thereafter. The child followed suit continuing to jabber on.
Anya considered it, honestly. However, she wasn’t sure if she was financially stable enough for a pokemon at the moment. A soft sigh escaped from her lips just before Gwen asked what she had been doing out. Pausing briefly, a tentative smile coming to her features, the woman slowly leaned forwards setting down her tea cup and picking up her bag fishing through it before slowly producing the strange berry Gwen had fished out earlier.
“I was actually headed to my boyfriend’s house,” she murmured briefly before looking at Gwen. “I’d found this fruit near the beach, and it looked interesting. He always likes to see new things here..” A strange surprisingly soft chuckle escaped from the woman as her demeanor shifted a little. It was clear just the thought had made her relax a bit more. “Have you ever seen it before?” she asked thereafter.
