| The town was fairly quiet today, though Gwen wasn't too surprised given all the Anorith running about. Nobody in town wanted to find themselves under attack by the pesty prehistoric bugs after all. As she walked down the street, Gwen only spotted a trainer or two, some making a hasty walk to where ever they were headed, others lingering about. It wasn't hard to guess who was helping to deal with the Anorith swarm and who were trying to flee from it.
Gwen personally did think quite less of those who refused to help fix the situation. This town put a lot into supporting trainers, and the least they could do was help fight off a few Anorith. It wasn't like it was that difficult seeing as she herself had taken out three just moments after leaving the pokemon lab. Unfortunately though, there was little to be done about those people. They made their choices, and Gwen made hers, and once she took out a few more Anorith, she'd be the one raking in the rewards.
First she'd have to find some of those Anorith though. She herself had taken out three of them, and the alert had given them 25 total? So there were probably still a good dozen and a half anorith running around at least. It couldn't be too hard. Reaching for her bag, Gwen plucked two poke balls off her shoulder bag, being particularly careful to not grab one of the Anorith's poke balls by mistake, and released both Ignis and Sakura. "Alright you two, I hope you both are ready for another round, because there's still more Anorith to take care of."
Both of the pokemon nodded affirmatively. Ignis' tail swished smoothly back and forth in anticipation while Sakura flexed her jaw-horn eagerly. Both ready, the group continued to move about the town, all eyes sharp for the first sign of Anorith.

As was noted before, the city was relatively quiet save for those on the move to a more obvious destination and those that were out dealing with the situation. However, the question persisted- where were the Anorith? It seemed since having flooded the city, they'd divided up, some groups being more obvious while others... not so much. As Gwendolyn walked- or searched, rather, she would probably be surprised to find that though there were clear signs of damage on buildings and whatever else had accidentally been left out to be decimated by the sharp armor pokemon, the Anorith themselves were not to be seen. Where were those Bug type critters?

| Gwen and her pokemon walked up and down the streets and alleyways in their search. Unfortunately though, the streets were quiet. The only thing that could be seen was the devastation that was left behind. No anorith. "Hmm..." She thought as she kicked over a chunk of brick that had been chipped off a residence. "Where ever the Anorith are, they are no longer here. Perhaps we'll find some if we follow this path of destruction?" She pondered out loud.
Sakura nodded in agreement. The bugs may not have hung around, but they had to be somewhere, and their biggest clue was all the rubble they had left behind. The Mawile in the meantime, poked her head to peer inside a toppled over garbage bin. Nothing jumped out to attack her, but she still dug around a bit. Maybe there would be something useful?

Aside from a few scraps and less than usable items, there was nothing in the trash can. It seemed the people of Port City had learned one thing over the years: one did not simply waste anything. Thus there was very little trash. Just then, the sound of something slamming to the ground vibrated the air followed shortly by a scream down another alleyway. That certainly didn’t sound promising but was certainly something. Would Gwen choose to pursue the sound?

| Ignis craned his head above Sakura as he attempted to see what she had found. All that appeared to be there was well, garbage. <What do you think you're looking for?> He asked, not bothering to hide his disgust at the revolting stench emanating from the can.
Sakura stood back up, shaking a few bits of debris from her legs as she did so. <Well, there might have been something. You never know?> She said with a soft chuckle. Unfortunately though, it wasn't quite true today. The mawile had come up with nothing more than sticky hands. Too bad.
Gwen wasn't particularly paying attention to the two as she walked down the street, and only paused when she noticed that they weren't following her. "Sakura, Ignis? Keep up." She called to them. The two pokemon promptly ran to catch up with her, and Gwen could only wonder why Sakura was looking a little messy. "What were you getting into? You're going to need a ba-"
Gwen cut off as she was suddenly interrupted by the sound of something crashing to the ground, and then an ear piercing scream. Both trainer and pokemon exchanged glances. That certainly sounded... Bad. "I hope that's not the Armaldo." said Gwen, though as ever, she didn't sound particularly worried about it. If she brought that beast back to the Emissary, Anita would definitely have rewards for her. Still, she wasn't at all confident that Sakura and Ignis would be able to take that particular beast.
Unfortunately though, the crash was accompanied by a scream, and that meant someone was in danger. Gwen was concerned about meeting a too strong opponent, but at the same time, if someone needed help, well, she wasn't the kind of person to look the other way at such things. "We should at least take a look. Be ready for anything." Gwen said, beckoning her pokemon forward. Together, they headed towards the sound not slowly, but still being cautious as they got closer to the source of the disturbance.

As Gwen turned the corner, she would find the sight of two Anorith backing a young woman into an alley way that came not to another street but a dead end. With a clearly cut up purse in hand and a defiant look in her brown eyes as she stared down the Bug and Rock type pokemon that had taken some strange interest in her, the young woman huffed, the scream having taken the air out of her for a moment. It seemed her cry had been that of a battle cry from the way in which she held the purse more like a weapon at the moment than not. However, as the Anorith drew closer, she drew backwards taking a number of steps to press her back against the wood fencing that blocked her from running. Briefly she glanced back fearfully before shooting a leer at the Anorith pair daring them to draw closer- which they did. Arceus damn it.

| "Slow down." Gwen muttered to her pokemon as they reached an alleyway. Peeking around the corner, she spotted a pair of Anorith cornering a woman at the end of the alleyway. Well, the good news was that they finally found their targets. Bad news was that their targets were about to turn an innocent civilian into sushi. Well, that just wouldn't do.
Gwen looked up to the fence. They were high enough that most people would have trouble climbing them, plus the vertically oriented boards wouldn't make that venture any easier. Fortunately for Gwen though, she was pretty tall and she'd be able to at least get Sakura and Ignis up there. Keeping her tone hushed, she turned to her pokemon. "I'm going to give you both a leg up onto the fence. You two will run along it and jump down between the woman and the Anorith. Ignis, you use growl, and Mawile you use astonish. Try to drive them back and be prepared to give chase." She instructed.
When both pokemon nodded their understanding, Gwen first picked up Ignis, and placed him carefully on top of the fence. "Watch your tail." She reminded the lizard. It would hardly be any help if they ended up setting the fence on fire after all. Once the Charmander was up, she picked up Sakura, who turned out to be a bit heavier than the fire lizard, but fortunately not by as much as she was expecting given her typing. Perhaps the fairy typing made her lighter?
Soon both pokemon were on the fence and heading towards the end of the alleyway. The Anorith had nearly reached their victim when Ignis and Sakura both jumped down between them, and Ignis let out a fierce growl at both of them, while Sakura's horn jaw snarled at them as an eerie dark mist surrounded her. If anything, the growl would at least lower the strength of their scratch attacks, and the Astonish might do some damage and potentially cause one of their targets to flinch. Gwen, who was now waiting around the corner, out of sight so as to make the Anorith's escape route appear clear, was really hoping they'd try to run.

The woman’s defiant expression even in the face of recourse could have seemed admirable to some, yet she was really starting to doubt herself now. It hadn’t been safe to go out without even a pokemon to protect her with the swarm ongoing. Why hadn’t she listened to her family? She knew the reason but didn’t want to admit it to herself least it break her resolve completely and cause the Anorith to charge and cut her to pieces. Just as the Anorith were about to close in on their target- a miracle happened, or at least as close to a miracle as the woman had ever experienced. Two pokemon came out from the fence to deal with the pokemon, and in a brief moment of weakness, the woman’s legs gave way as she sank into a sitting position to watch.
The sudden appearance of pokemon and the Growl attack that was released thereafter caused the Anorith to stop dead in their tracks for a moment at least. One of them jolted forwards rather quickly at Ignis shortly thereafter Scratching at his face as if in retribution for the status move. The second, however, was hit by the Astonish and paused for a moment. However, she did not flinch, it seemed, as the small Bug and Rock type barreled shortly thereafter for the Mawile Scratching at her fake maw.

Anorith 1 used scratch. Anorith 2 used scratch. Neither seemed very perturbed that they were being attacked. Whether this was for good or bad, none are sure.

| Gwen spared a glance at he battle, holding her hair back as she checked on what was happening. Unfortunately, it seemed that the plan to frighten the Anorith into fleeing away from the woman, hadn't quite worked. The astonish hadn't even caused the attackers to flinch either. Bad luck. She thought.
Meanwhile, unable to dodge too well in such tight quarters, both Ignis and Sakura were hit by the Anorith's scratch attacks, not that Sakura really felt it all that much. Weaker pokemon and normal type attacks, weren't really capable of putting much of a dent in her iron maw. Ignis though growled a bit, rubbing his cheek where the claw had made contact.
"Do NOT use ember Ignis." Gwen suddenly yelled down the alleyway at her Charmander, as she stepped out of her cover. There hardly was much point in hiding now. The Anorith clearly showed no intention of fleeing anyway. It was probably a good thing she had told him too, because the Charmander was just about to spray some at the Anorith that had attacked him. It would only make things a million times worse if a stray ember managed to set the fencing on fire. "Ignis, just keep up the growl and Sakura use Iron head on your Anorith."
Ignis sighed. Growl again? How was he supposed to keep this thing off his tail? He supposed softening the Anorith's attack strength at least would steadily make their attacks next to useless would be helpful enough if he wasn't going to be able to do anything to really effectively drive them off. With that, he complied, inhaling deeply before belting out another startlingly loud growl, or perhaps it was a roar? Who knew.
Once Ignis was done, Sakura too went on with her attack, turning around to face her opponent and charging at it with her head low. The attack had been plenty handy for knocking other Anorith away, she was sure she could at least get this Anorith to give the stranger some distance.

It was possibly bad luck on Gwen’s part that the Astonish had not caused the Anorith to flinch, yet considering it had less than half a probability of doing so to begin with, it was debatable whether that was an accurate statement or not. Compiled on the fact that the plan had failed, though, one could assume, one could suppose.
Due to the close quarters, the Anorith were unable to avoid the effects of the Growl reducing their attacks once more, but that seemed not to stop them from trying to attack anyways. What drove them so? What caused them to not flee from the scene of clearly stronger pokemon? Was there something that interesting that the woman had? Who knew at the moment. As the Mawlile’s head came down to bang one of the Anorith, rather interestingly it dashed out of the way… and up the wall? Digging into the wall with its short arms, the rock bug then went – did it just seriously jump over Sakura??? Yes, it did- and just went flying at the woman who was now shrieking as it attached to the front of her shirt and started crawling on her. The second Anorith, meanwhile, formed yet another Scratch and made to cut at Ignis.
-------------------
Scratch war between Aorith and Ignis. What the hell is up with that other Anorith. This feels like a douge meme.
