if i sing out to the rain will the sun come out again? june. 12:xx pm. partially cloudy. metronome surprised him every single time. it was good that the togepi would jump into battle without waiting for much of a command--wait, that was a bad thing, especially since she considered it a form of play--but she could ease up on the metronome. yet, as the sound waves shook the earth, he had to force his hands to his ears, keeping the egg pinned between his legs and his chest. red eyes squinted as he tried to see what was happening, yet he could only see blurred colors and shapes. the blue flying through the sky seemed to have fallen to the ground, thank arceus almighty. aerial attacks were not fun whatsoever, so he was at least glad that they were now on the ground. But, what was that move? now was definitely not the time to worry about something like that, but there was always some time, no matter how small, for learning! "let's see, sound based attacks that could not only knock birds out of the sky but shatter rocks in the vicinity..." yuuki mumbled to himself while he lowered his ears, wincing as his eardrums continued to ring from the loud sound that omurice had produced. "boomburst? hyper voice? echoed voice? why must there be so many?" his eyebrows knitted together while he watched one of the ducklett attack their own. "echoed voice wouldn't have that much power unless used in succession, something that omurice would not be able to achieve. boomburst or hyper voice? with an explosion like that, perhaps it was hyper voice?" oh, look at that, omurice was already toddling off to greet her new 'friends' now that they were on the ground. the togepi let out a shrill giggle, kicking up the cuteness factor she had in an attempt to make sure her new bird 'friends' would like her even more. it worked on the buneary, so why not them? "a-ah, omurice?" he was such a bad father.

The ducks were regaining consciousness as Omurice waddled her way up the hill. One Ducklett seemed to have misjudged the return of its balance, because as it hopped up to charge at the baby, it instead rammed into one of its allies. A 'squawk' rose from the victim's chest as it pummeled the aggressor with its blue wing. The leading Feral shook its head furiously as it peeled itself from the ground. It squawked a command, but the others were completely engrossed with each other to hear it.

Just then, Togepi appeared in front of the leader with its girlish charm, which, for a moment kept the Pokemon captivated. Buneary, of course, had already shot towards the baby Pokemon - Yuuki should take note that the Feral actually seemed quite fast, even with no counterpart comparison. Its ears unfolded just before it reached the leader, using something of a 'punch gun' technique that shoved the opposing Feral back on its tailfeathers. 

With another, slightly more aggressive, squawk from the leader, the two bickering Ducklett discontinued their quarrel and moved into their next formation. One charged into the Buneary, which caused it too to fall on its furry tush.

The other, flew in towards Yuuki, its target, the egg. Nincada gasped - or as much of a gasp as a bug can make - before crawling back to the trainers forearm and hardening its body. Huh. It seemed Yuuki had his own personal shield bracelet. How convenient!

if i sing out to the rain will the sun come out again? june. 12:xx pm. partially cloudy. omurice seemed exceptionally pleased when the attention was drawn towards her. she jumped up and down, waving her stubby arms as she let out a rolling cheer. yet, just as fast as she had captured the attention from her new 'friends', the buneary friend from earlier took it all away! that's not nice! the togepi puffed out her yolk colored cheeks in irritation, but it was quickly dispersed once she noticed some of the ducks were on the move. she let out another prrri! and started after them with a hop, a step, and then a trip. the egg rolled a bit, ending up on her back without any hope of getting back up despite her constant rocking motion. she quickly gave up without allowing herself to, well, roll over instead of roll onto her feet, and the flood gates were once more opened along with a shrill cry. she really was hopeless. "om-omurice..." yuuki was just about to get up to help her when he noticed that the straying duckletts weren't actually straying but, well, coming right at him. this is what happened when you took a short moment to admire a rabbit's speed and then anther moment to wish you had asked for a pokemon with more life experience. as the nincada took its new position on his arm, the man slid his bag off of his shoulder and opened it up. he made hasty work with moving around its contents, clearing up enough of a space to place the unknown egg inside. zipping the bag closed once more, he carefully slipped both arms through the loops, mindful of the nincada, and, well, wore the backpack completely wrong with the bulk of it on his chest rather than his back. "c'mon, little bug," keeping his eyes on the oncoming ducklett, yuuki began his clumsy dash towards the toppled over, crying togepi. "again? really?" as her cries grew louder, he began to notice the telltale white light that illuminated her small paws, waving in the air in a poor attempt at helping her up. 'we're going to have to--ah! cover first!" the dark haired man ran off the path, ducking behind the first large enough obstacle that could be used as a shield. in less vague terms, a large enough rock jutting out of the ground. still, he doubted that he would be able to stay here long with ducklett on a mission. if anything, it would keep him from whatever dangers lurked within the togepi's metronome. and i'll have to work with her timing on it.

The glow of her hands changed from an illuminated white to a bright, sparky yellow. Although the Duckletts had no idea what this meant, Buneary figured it wasn't something it wanted to be caught up in by any means. The Feral bunny hopped up, smacked the duck that charged it, and shot itself behind another large rock.

At that point, the glow that surrounded Togepi spread to the rest of her body. Sparks began to fly as she giggled before the energy finally released into an array of lightning bolts. Three consecutive -squawks sounded as the energy zapped each one to the ground.

None of the three seemed to be capable of movement at this point. Metronome was certainly a force to be reckoned with eh?

if i sing out to the rain will the sun come out again? june. 12:xx pm. partially cloudy. the static that filled the air made him glad that he had ducked for cover when he did. he clung close to the large rock, screwing his eyes shut while keeping clutching his worn bag close to his chest. he waited with baited breath until the electricity died down. slowly, cautiously, he peeked out from behind the rock to find the three ducks completely down for the count. a few stray sparks remained, making their jagged movements before disappearing entirely. a heavy sigh escaped from his lips as he pushed himself up, glancing down to make sure that the nincada was unharmed, before continuing towards the toppled over egg. She seemed to have ceased her crying after noticing the yellow light show, and he could have sworn he had heard her giggle at one point. now, she laid there, staring up at the gathering clouds in the sky. "omurice?" he called, and the only signal that she had heard him was the slight glance she gave him before returning her gaze to the sky. "you're grounded after this, okay?" he knew he was speaking more to himself than anyone else. the ferals could not understand him as far as he knew, and the togepi at least acted like she couldn't. at least she understood her own name now. crouching down beside her, he fished out the togepi's pokeball. "return," the red light shot out, enveloping the egg as she let out a yawn. he stood back up and carefully placed the pokeball inside the bag, making sure the button wouldn't press against the egg within and accidentally release the infant again. red eyes turned down the path to new pallet before flitting towards the buneary and nincada. "i'm heading off. you two can either follow along or leave." he wasn't even going to try and force the nincada to remove itself from his arm as he turned down the path with a contagious yawn escaping him.

Nincada clanked its way back into Yuuki's shoulder and snuggled in. It wasn't planning on leaving anytime soon. Buneary was completely torn, it had a thing for babies, which Yuuki may or may not have noticed, but it certainly did not want to become a human toy. 

Its ears pricked as it noticed Yuuki walking into the settlement. The bunny growled to itself. It couldn't leave the babes with that mess of a man. With a groan it threw its head back. <Looks like I'm following him..>

Then something caught its eye. One of the unconscious ducks left behind a shiny blue feather which Buneary decided to pick up and tuck into its fluff. Another groan escaped the bunny as it hopped after the trainer and his team. What an odd party.
