~Strange sounds have been heard outside of New Pallet, The Ambassador urges trainers to be ready in case of an attack~
Summer is kicking in Port City! The temperature averages about 78°F (25°C) with a bit more rain than usual. Thunderstorms pop up every once in awhile, but overall, the sun is shining, the water's warm, and it looks like it'll be a great summer for the colonies.

the togepi was having the time of her life getting dressed up like a doll. she played with the leaves and weed--erm, flower--necklace, tearing off little pieces of it while the buneary went about. she paused as the berry was placed on her head, dark eyes widening as her mouth opened in a small o shape. "prri!" she gave a cheer as the momentary surprise was washed away by a curling smile. she threw up her small paws, rolling the berry around on her head while trying to keep it from falling off. at least she had the small spikes on her head to cheat--erm, help--with.
the egg pokemon paused her laughter as the hare went back through the bush. curiosity got the best of her, and she toddled off the way the buneary went. the wall that appeared before her, however, caused her to fall backwards, knocking off the berry and weed outfit. she sat there for a moment, stunned, before tears began to brim in her eyes. her mouth contorted before she let out a long, high pitched wail.
"omurice!" the man called out, taking a hesitant step away from the rabbit. his call didn't seem to reach the togepi beyond the wall and crying, and he silently cursed to himself while taking wary glances at the buneary. he knew that any glow on a certain part of the body was not a good thing. the full body? maybe. that meant evolution... or bide. bide was not good, either. anyway, he needed to be careful. he needed to protect the nincada. he needed to get to his pokemon. he needed to calm his pokemon. "omurice, honey, i-it's me! yuuki! c'mon, dear, get out from behind the wall. come to... uh... c-come to daddy! ye-yeah, come to daddy!"
A gasp escaped the Buneary as Omurice hit the ground. How dare you hurt my baby! "Buewi!" it shouted at Yuuki. No one made Buneary's baby cry and got away with it! No sir! Just as Buneary shouted, the lightweight bug attached to the man's hand seemed to double in weight, even almost stiffen in a sense. Fortunately, this also brought the licking to a stop.
The wind too seemed to calm its gusting, but flakes of snow, as well as the temperature seemed to linger. Ears pulsing with the white glow, Buneary bounced into the air towards the trainer and attempted to slam its ears square into his face. There was certainly not a normal thing about this scenario, but alas, one day it'd make for a great story.

was it just him or was his hand getting heavier? oh, no, it was definitely not him. it was the bug. great. just what he needed. with the force of gravity the nincada was dealing with, he could probably using the poor bug as a weapon if he really wanted to. but, let's face it, i don't want to. he would have to stick with being a wimp. "gah!" red eyes widened as he dodged to the side, narrowly missing the glowing ears of the buneary. he shoulder collided with the dirt below, and a strangled cry of pain escaped from his lips. despite all of this, he kept the hand with the nincada close to his chest with his other hand tightened around the togepi's pokeball.
"togepi, why am i the one dealing with the hare when you're the pokemon?" he groaned as he pushed himself up onto his elbows and then onto his knees. he quickly hooked his thumb underneath the strap of his back and adjusted it on his right, unwounded shoulder. he cast a wary glare towards the buneary. he needed to stand up and get out of there, but he needed to grab the togepi first. that was going to be extremely hard considering this buneary was out to get him. then he caught movement out of the corner of his eye.
omurice, in a sniffling state of mess, toddled towards the two. she placed herself beside yuuki, one paw clinging onto the dirt clad material of his pants while she kept her tear brimming wide eyes on the buneary. "to-toki... prrrrrii..." she gave the buneary a pleading look, her lower lip quivering.
For a moment, Buneary was completely stunned. Why would she be protecting this human that was coming after her? A disgruntled growl and huff was the Pokemon's first response to Omurice's defence. It was sort of cute in a way, just an angry Buneary. Either way, the Feral's ears faded to their normal luminosity as it crossed its arms and hesitantly nodded. It was Buneary's baby, and whatever its baby wanted, its baby would get. Even if that meant keeping a nasty human company.
"Byeah ya." Buneary plopped to its teary child and scratched her in head in an attempt to console her before picking her up once again. The Feral seemed like it was going to waiver its animosity toward Yuuki, provided he didn't interfere with it and Togepi. So one could possibly say that Buneary and Yuuki were something of inlaws now?
With all the excitement going on with the two cuties, Nincada figured there was no more danger and as a result let its Harden wear off. A few fluttering 'tsks' came from the bug as it released Yuuki's hand and made its way to the trainer's shoulder. Something about this guy reminded Nincada of an ex-lover that it met only moments ago. Maybe it was the smell. They were exactly the same.
So whereas most people are attacked and killed by Feral Pokemon, Yukki's first out-of-town adventure was a bit different, so far anyway.

he couldn't believe it. well, actually, he could. the buneary already seemed rather attached to the infant egg, so it was probably only natural that her tears and natural cuteness would be able to 'calm the savage beast'. he was thankful, in the very least, since now he didn't have to worry about his nose being broken by rabbit ears. giving a heavy sigh, his body relaxed as he slouched down. no longer was he standing on his knees but sitting on the ground, crossing his legs and placing the pokeball on his lap while he used his right hand to thread through his long hair. at least the air around them was still cool from the freak icy wind--though he had some suspicions on who produced that. but, the coolness kept him from dying of heat exhaustion from running after the hare.
"prrrri!" the togepi was happy once more, the leftover tears drying on her face. she was enjoying feral encounters a lot more than her master-turned-babysitter, and it was evident by the large smile that closed her eyes as the wild hare picked her up again. "please don't walk--erm, hop--off with her again." yuuki winced as he felt his hand be released and small claws climb up his injured arm, only to rest on his shoulder. he tilted and turned his head for a better view of the small nincada now resting on his shoulder, and he couldn't help the soft chuckle that escaped him. "what am i to do with you three? so far, the only danger i've faced is my own stupidity and horrible parenting skills." he grimaced as he looked down at the hand that the nincada previously occupied, yet he was reaching into his bag with his free hand within a moment's notice.
he pulled out the x-gear and took a picture of his hand and then the nincada on his shoulder before he wiped his hand off on his already dirtied pants. stuffing the x-gear back in his bag, he cast a worried glance at the buneary and togepi. while the hare didn't seem to carry ill will towards the egg, he was afraid of it hopping off with omurice again. he didn't want another race... even though he should probably head on to new pallet. was this enough of a detour?

"Squawk!" an irritated caw interrupted the group's moment, which was accompanied by a scream. Back on the path to New Pallet, a woman in her late fifties was doing everything in her power to escape a flying Feral. Curses were exchanged with every snap of the creature's bill. It seemed to be a Ducklett, an overly aggressive Ducklett at that, finally an ordinary sight! The billed Pokemon plucked at the woman's hair, her clothes, but seemed to be honed in on her bag.
Aggravated, the Pokemon ended the chase by shooting a Water Gun at its prey. The sudden hose of water caused the damsel to trip and fall onto her knees and elbows. Eyes filled to the brim with tears, she started a crawl towards the hill. Ducklett grabbed her bag and tugged until the woman finally, and most hesitantly released the pack from her shoulders, hoisted herself up, and booked it to the settlement ahead.
The bag was caught in midair by the duck, who gently lowered it to the ground below. With a light quack, the Pokemon observed its settings and lifted back into the air. It flapped its wings then glided off towards Mirror Lake. The bag, still where the Ducklett laid, seemed to have some sort of object in it. Oh.. Oh no. As the Feral flew from the area, an egg rolled out of the bag, and it was rolling down the hill towards Yuuki and company.
Whom did the egg belong to? Was it Ducklett's? The woman's? Either way, the trainer would need to act fast. Ducklett was sure to be back soon, and the egg would likely fall into some sort of hole and break if it wasn't stopped.

It seemed like he would finally get some sort of moment's rest without the buneary stealing his togepi or any mysterious substances coming from the nincada. he let out a sigh of relief, leaning back on the palm of his right hand. he would need to make sure he got his shoulder checked out when he arrived at new pallet, but something told him he was just being a wuss. it was probably just scraped and sore, nothing too life threatening. then again, anything was life threatening in this world. and the last. blinking away the hint of stinging in his red eyes, he was about to stand up to continue on his way when he heard a squawk.
yuuki froze, eyes wide as he searched for the source. he found it ahead of him, and his first reaction was to grab the togepi's pokeball. he recalled the egg back into her capsule for safe keeping, ignoring any protest that might arise from the buneary holding her. forcing the pokeball back into his bag, he kept and eye on the scene farther along the path while he tried to shoo away the nincada. ick, he could still feel some of the strange substance on his hand. he almost felt like he was rushing for nothing when the woman and the ducklett disappeared. that is, he thought so until he heard the movement of dirt and pebbles and the distinct sound of something rolling.
"gah!" he fixed his gaze on the rolling object, quickly judging where it was going to roll and positioning himself low to the ground to grab the egg.
Buneary, completely outraged by the retrieval of its baby, used its paws to bat at the human's arm. Luckily, Yuuki had a new, personal shield that crawled to the area of his arm being attacked and hardened itself to counter the bunny's hits. After continuing in vain for a bit longer, the Feral creature finally noticed what Yuuki was focused on and let out a squeal mixed of both fear and joy. This one sure had a thing for eggs eh? The situation took an anticlimactic turn when the egg suddenly rolled at halftime, moving at about half its original speed. But eventually, Yuuki's perfectly positioned hands caught the specimen.
Buneary quickly began to dust the egg off with its ears while it was still cupped in the trainer's hands. "Swequ ick!" the voice on Yuuki's shoulder whispered in alarm. The Ducklett was returning, and with two others in its formation. New Pallet was close enough for the trainer to make way and possibly avoid a seemingly dangerous and likely very risky fight, but he did have something of a guardian to himself and one of the eggs he carried if he wanted to stay and fight.

oh, thank arceus!
the tension melted away from his body as the unknown egg rolled into his arms, safe from any harm. he waited patiently as the buneary dusted the egg off, thankful that she at least wasn't trying to beat up his arm and cause further injury anymore. ah, he should probably thank the nincada as well, but... really, he didn't know how he should show his thanks. carefully, he picked the egg up and rolled it in his hand, searching for cracks and scrapes. what was he going to do with this? he couldn't just leave it here. he could leave it with the buneary, but he didn't trust the creature to not accidentally drop it and end up with egg yolk everywhere.
he didn't even trust himself to do that! Oh, but what if it hatched and imprinted on him? Then he would never be able to get rid of it! then again, i am here to learn 'independence'. it would just be another step on this godawful journey. he would say that he hated his mother for making him do this, but he would just end up apologizing a billion times over the next time he was able to see her again despite how she would not know what he was talking about.
drawn away from his thoughts by the sound of the nincada, he looked over his shoulder while bringing the egg closer to his chest. great. just great. "um," was all that left his mouth as he rapidly blinked, trying to find a solution to this madness. stay and fight with a half-hatched egg that wouldn't even listen to him or flee while he still could? he could possibly count on the nincada and buneary... okay, maybe just the buneary. but, it would be more help than one. yuuki gulped, reaching for his bag and shoving his hand inside. "i can't keep running forever," the pep talk was more for himself than anyone else. he pulled out the togepi's pokeball and released her onto ground. the man hunched over the egg, trying to shield as much of it as possible.
"prrrri!" she cheered upon seeing daylight and three birds coming their way. without waiting for much of a call on the man's part, she started waving her small paws causing them to glow once more. with the way she was presenting herself, it was more that the metronome only activated when she was too happy for all the wrong reasons. but, hey, she wanted to play with the birds in the sky!
By the time Yuuki released Omurice, the formation of birds had already noticed that the egg was gone and were descending towards the party. Buneary's fists rose into a defensive stance with it ears up and ready to rumble. Nincada, being a bit more timid, tucked itself behind the trainer's neck, finding comfort in his long hair.
The doozy however, was Togepi. As she waved her stubby, little, glowing paws around, she bounced up and down and let out another "prrrri!" But this time, the cute little sound resonated with the air in front of her. Sound waves that almost seemed visible to the naked eye, rippled in front of the giggling baby. Buneary's eyes widened before it tucked itself into a ball to avoid the shill cry.
All the rocks and weeds in the path of this deafening wave were shattered. The flying Ferals were completely wrapped in the sound which caused a great deal off squawking as they fell to the ground.
Now, with their center of balance damaged, the three birds were having issues even with waddling. One actually made an attempt to shoot a stream of water in the direction of the noise, but completely missed and sprayed one of its allies instead. Yuuki's team was granted a chance to take out the threat quickly, they'd better take it while it lasts - or run.
