Abyaz Aigar Wimund
Age: 37
Gender: Male
Orientation: Pansexual
Profession: Medical Merchant/Cleric
Occupation: Apothecary
Appearance:
Abyaz stands 5'6", with a rather pale, but clear and clean-shaven complexion. His soft hair is long and flowing, reaching quite a way down his back. While it is mostly straight, it has a bounce to it that puffs it out a little, and two sizeable portions keep escaping from the rest to dangle in front of his shoulders. It is a pale, airy pink that many have claimed reminds them of the Joy clan - it seems paler than theirs, though, and nobody seems quite sure if he's related or not. His blue eyes would seem to hint at it, but they too are a different shade. Most often, Abyaz can be seen with a light smile on his face - or, if he's deep in thought, chewing lightly on his thumb. It's rare to see him with an expression more dire than a light frown.
[Face Claim: Akoya Gero - Cute High Earth Defence Club Love!]
Everyday Clothes:
Abyaz is fond of wearing white when he can get away with it, and adores matching his trousers to what he wears on his torso, but in a wild world like Mi-aro? It's hard to not get that kind of thing messy. When he can't get away with wearing whites, he tends towards pastel colours - as this goes well with his hair, and creates a soft and nonthreatening appearance.
When he is acting in his capacity as Mewist Cleric, he wears either a pink sash or pink scarf that matches Mew in hue,
apart from two patches where little blue beads have been sewn in to give the appearance of Mew eyes. They're actually both the same garment, he just can't seem to stick to a style of wearing it. It cost him a pretty coin, though, after his old one wore out - so he figures he can wear it however he likes.
Pack: A sky-blue satchel containing The Book of Mew, basic first aid equipment, herb containers (with or without herbs), a list of whatever it is he needs to remember, and his walking-around money.
Personality:
Abyaz is a sweet-natured fellow, who sometimes comes off as being a little naive due to his rather open and relatively placid attitude. He also has a tendency to pick up on the emotions of others around him relatively easily, and feels the need to respond to them. Usually, this manifests itself as a desire to comfort someone who's having a bit of a rough patch, or joke along with someone who's had a success. He is, however, somewhat claustrophobic, and finds it hard to maintain his cool if he cannot see the sky and has not for a while. He's also quite easy to startle. As someone who embraces the Trait of Serenity from the Traits of Mew his faith provides, Abyaz generally refuses to display anger towards others in magnitudes greater than irritated expressions or lowered tone of voice, even when provoked - which has led some to believe him to be something of a pushover. While he does tend to prefer to be the reed that bends in the wind as opposed to the stalk that breaks, he doesn't simply retreat into himself when upset. He waits, and channels his negative emotions into something productive, like grinding herbs into a paste. If he has a problem with someone, he is likely to behave in a passive-aggressive kind of way. In true Mewist naming tradition, his first and middle names have meanings associated with the Traits of Mew: His first name, Abyaz, means innocent, while his middle name of Aigar means gladness and joy.

Backstory:
While his age might seem to imply that Abyaz was one of the earlier colonists, he's actually a relatively recent recruit.
Having grown up in Kanto's Celadon City, Abyaz is used to being among large numbers of people, and has enjoyed the bustle of it all since he was a child. He always wanted to be able to do something that would benefit all the people that he saw, but he didn't use to be quite sure what he should do. At first, when he was a little boy, he wanted to be a fire-fighter or a policeman, and he would play games with his friends to this effect. When he got a little older, and had the chance to wonder both how comfy those uniforms were and whether he'd actually get a chance to be a normal everyday person as well, he wasn't quite so sure he wanted to don that particular hero's mantle. After all, the world was kind of in disarray, and there'd be possibly too much for him to do to allow him to socialise with his friends and family.
His next idea was that he could be an explorer, and look for somewhere that wasn't falling apart, but it only took a few documentaries explaining the extent of the catastrophe to change his mind. That was when his mother asked him to think about what tended to help him personally, and to see whether there was any way of applying that to what he wanted to do. At first, Abyaz couldn't think of anything that he thought would work, though he did mumble something about thinking of Mew – that was his favourite Legend, unsurprising given that he was from a Mewist family – but he had mostly been thinking in terms of the Legend's cute snuggle factor at the time. More than any other Pokemon, Abyaz wanted to hug that revered and ancient kitty. He was surprised when his mother chuckled and told him that telling people about Mew might actually help, though his father added that he would likely have to find something else to do in order to earn a living in those dire times. Feeling encouraged that he'd managed to think of at least one thing, Abyaz had let his mind race in search of another idea. He'd eventually hit upon the idea that, if he couldn't make the world better, he could at least try to make the people in it better. With all the encroaching destruction, people were getting hurt more and more, so why not do something that would help to offset that? While he wasn't so keen on hospitals with their starkness and chemical smells, he did know a few things about herbs – perhaps he could work from there?
It was these decisions that led Abyaz to start along the path towards becoming both a Cleric of Mewism and an Apothecary, and he studied both herbal and medical lore with keen eyes even as he absorbed more and more Mew lore. It didn't occur to him to give up hope with the world crashing around everyone's ears – he couldn't believe that everything would come to have been in vain. By the time Arceus made his proclamation, Abyaz was twelve and still determined to become someone who made things better – the sheer wonder of the immense Legend and the portal he/she/they brought did nothing to convince him otherwise, despite the thought that there was now a way out of the pit the world had become. Instead, it made him all the more determined. The people who hadn't gone through yet would still need someone to make them feel better and hurt less, after all.
So it was that, even after becoming qualified as an Apothecary, and a few years later being confirmed as a Cleric, Abyaz remained in the world that was dying – even after his parents went to the newer world. He moved from settlement to settlement as they were vacated, bringing all the goodwill and medicine he could muster, and trying to gather what herbs he could from the green places not yet razed. It was only when he could no longer find people to help that he began making his way towards the portal – he knew logically that there were probably more, but there was no guarantee that he'd find them before something managed to do him in. There were certainly people near the portal, but those didn't stay long enough for him to be of any help with. So, after packing as many herbs as he could muster, all the medicines and equipment he had left, and his personal effects, Abyaz stepped through the portal himself. This was five years ago.
Now a citizen of Mi-aro, Abyaz usually stays in Port City, but he will go where he feels he is needed if he can have someone's help to get him and his supplies there safely. He is always on the lookout for new medicinal herbs, and is willing to offer some kind of reward in exchange if someone brings him some. Fewer people talk to him about Mewism than his medicine, but he doesn't mind – he knows that, if they want to hear about it, they'll probably find him, but that most people are more concerned with making sure that their bodies are healthy.
