~Strange sounds have been heard outside of New Pallet, The Ambassador urges trainers to be ready in case of an attack~
Summer is kicking in Port City! The temperature averages about 78°F (25°C) with a bit more rain than usual. Thunderstorms pop up every once in awhile, but overall, the sun is shining, the water's warm, and it looks like it'll be a great summer for the colonies.

HOW DEEP IS THIS LOVE? DEEP INSIDE YOUR HEART
✿ Kimaru sighed, shaking his head with a smirk. "Always somewhere to be, something to be doing. They sure love to keep me busy don't they?" But it's what he signed up for after all. He wasn't going to be the one to be ignoring orders from the top. And besides, who could turn down such a generous offer as this? Of course, he was sure there would be all sorts of little 'favors' he would be asked for in return, but beggars can hardly be choosers. A guy like him takes what he can get.
Setting his cup on the table, Kimaru slid out of his seat, leaving his payment on the table. At the door he cast a quick glance back to see that his payment was being taken by the appropriate person. Gently pushing the door, he was greeted with a hot breath of muggy air. The humidity was bothersome, but one got used to it. The people of the city were just starting to come out, and above a few clouds scuttled around aimlessly.
Glancing at the sky, Kimaru shrugged in an indifferent manner. The sun was only just clearing the tops of most buildings, and it was probably getting to be around seven or so. He should probably start heading over. He had time, but this was a big city after all. Besides, it was best not to be late. Saves the effort of having to go through all that dull stuff about being punctual and always at the ready and such. And a bad start could take ages to work around. Honestly, some people needed to take it easy.
Weaving through the streets with a practiced ease, Kimaru melted through the crowds, slipping through them like a shadow. The city was easy to navigate, if you knew what you were doing. Stepping through a side alley, he took a shortcut between streets and made his way towards the Emissary. Finding himself before the impressive white building, he glanced upwards to the top of the building. "Tsk. Always have to go out of their way to make it look impressive." Figures. That's how the world worked. The bigger and more impressive, the better. It was a sign of power. And a waste. But it was not his place to pass judgement.
Stepping into the building, Kimaru crossed the front office to the receptionist's desk. Giving the receptionist a charming smile, he waited for them to finish writing before speaking. "Kawaita. The lady up top said she wanted to see me."

Glancing up from her paperwork, the receptionist casually returned Kimaru's smile with a rather flirty version of her own. Taking a moment to finish what she was going over before addressing him, she then flipped to another page on the clipboard. Idly tapping her pen as she went down the list, she looked back up with another smile as she found his name. "Yes, Kawaita Kimaru. Miss Nguyen is expecting you, now. Go up the stairs to the left and through the first door and you'll reach her office. Good luck~" The receptionist directed, giving a small wave as she sent the man off.
Upon reaching the office, Kimaru would find a large room not unlike the rest of the building, but with a certain charm of its own. Various shelves lined the walls, filled with all sorts of treasures but failed to draw the eye away from the rather imposing figure seated at a large white desk in the center of the room. Her hands folded patiently across the wood, Anita would watch as Kimaru entered, silently judging his conduct. Seemingly satisfied, she straightened, gesturing the trainer to come sit down. "I am Anita Nguyen, Ambassador of the Colonies. Hopefully, you already knew that. I've summoned you here as I think it's time you make your official and proper debut in the world. I do not approve of your way of conducting business, but like any other, I am willing to give you a chance to redeem your flaws." She spoke, her voice stone cold and lacking any sort of warmth that she may have usually given new trainers.
As she finished speaking, Anita opened the large dark case on her desk, retrieving five Pokeballs. "I am sending you out into the world as a Survivor. As such, I will put aside your wrong-doings and treat you like any other trainer invited into this room. You will have a choice of one Pokemon from the five I have picked out for you." She stated, tapping each Pokeballs' button in quick succession, releasing each one into the room.
"I will explain each one for you to better understand the choice before you. I suggest you give it serious thought." Anita started, standing from her desk to approach the first Pokemon. It was a rather cautious looking Hitmonlee that seemed ready to strike. As Anita placed a palm a top its head, it soon calmed. "This is a Hitmonlee. They're a very battle oriented Pokemon, focused on speed and agility. They use their legs to attack, while their arms are mostly for balance. Their kicks are rapid and powerful, making it quite the opponent." She spoke, giving the Pokemon's head a pat before moving on.
"This is a Nidoran. To be more exact as this is a very gender-based Pokemon, this is a male Nidoran. Nidoran is a Pokemon that utilizes both poison attacks and its hearing to full advantage. There is no sound mute enough to escape a male Nidoran's hearing." As Anita spoke, the Nidoran seemed to be showing off as he swiveled his ears in every which direction and even flapping them. It was obviously very proud of its ears. "I hope you can remember that Pokemon are not to be used as tools, but to be companions." She added, giving Kimaru a stern look.
Stepping away from the Nidoran, Anita approached a Pokemon that seemed a little out of place from the rest. "This is a Psyduck." She spoke, watching as the duck-like Pokemon idly swayed back and forth, its head gripped between its paws. "Psyduck are very unfortunate Pokemon cursed to endure terrible headaches from the psychic build-up. After a while, they are able to release all of the tension in the form of powerful Psychic attacks, though they do not seem able to control this nor even realize when it happens. Still, they can make quite interesting partners." She finished. The Psyduck paused in its swaying to look at her and tilt its head as she walked away.
The next Pokemon that The Ambassador approached was a blue metallic looking thing that seemed to glide through the air with all of the confidence in the world. "This is a Beldum. Beldum are a mechanical type of Pokemon that rely on magnetism for most everything. As a result, they have a large amount of control over this force. They are normally found in swarms, but can also make very useful companions on their own, as long as it considers you to be equal... They are not a Pokemon to be looked down on." She explained, watching as the Beldum turned to face Kimaru, its red mechanical eye seeming to refocus in its socket as it examined him.
"...Last is Zubat." Nguyen continued, gesturing to the bat-like Pokemon that had been flying back and forth between the walls, examining every little thing with its echolocation. "Someone with a Zubat will never be lost. While they lack sight and smell, entirely, their natural echolocation is unrivaled. Like Beldum, Zubat are normally found in large groups. They are very precision based and intelligent Pokemon, despite the usual opinion of them, and nothing to look down upon."
"That's that, then. Make your choice. Only one. If you do not wish for any of these starters, you may also choose one of the original starters, instead."
