Emerald looked down for a moment. It was worse than being reprimanded. Nix was in a harsher way telling her the truth, the correct way to be out there. But Emerald, even in her understanding, didn't care. She didn't even want to uproot pokemon from their homes. If it was dangerous, sure. But she didn't understand. She wanted to help pokemon, like they were understanding of that--and she very much felt that they did! She wanted pokemon to see that she was not a bad person. She loved them, whether she knew it or not. But maybe she was being a bit too naive. She should learn to be more guarded. Not jaded, but guarded.
While thinking this, Emerald tripped. So much for not being guarded; the girl had not even been paying attention to where she was walking! She looked at the mound, which was odd because there were only holes in this land. "Ow! What was that?" Emerald looked at the egg, still and intact. It did not seem to have any cracks when the girl picked it up. "Is it my lucky day or what! Maybe the mother is around, though. Would it be right to take the egg? Probably not, right?" Emerald looked around for the mother, to no avail. Whatever had the egg had seemed to not bother in leaving it protected. It stuck up from the ground without any cover! Emerald looked around the area. She saw no other eggs, either. "Weird. Where did it come from?"

Nix was too busy wrapped in her own thoughts to notice the other girl as she began to walk again, so when she tripped, nix jumped. The elder girl looked to the younger and frowned before she looked down to see what had tripped her, an egg? Nix frowned a little deeper at this and looked to her own, the two looked kind of similar but also different in their size and shape which told nix that eggs all looked like each other but gave no hints as to what were inside. Her hope that hers was just a little boring was blown out of the water, but it was still nice to know the other female had her own egg too now.
Nix looked around as the girl spoke of a mother, looking in to the grasses and bushes and seeing only the flash of yellow that was her other pokemon and she shook her head. "Maybe the mother had a litter too big or it was taken from the nest" the elder girl mused as she looked down at the egg on the ground, though the other girl was now picking it up and claiming it as her own it seemed. good idea, better to take it and hatch it then leave it to be lunch for some other lucky pokemon.

Emerald thought about it. She had already picked the egg up and started walking around. She felt some kind of attraction to the egg, though it was probably how most people felt. She held onto the egg tightly. "When we reach the lake, I am going to give you a quick bath. You're very dirty." At this point Emerald's pokemon had run to her, jumping and sniffing the egg. "It's your new best friend, Gible! Say hi!" She hoped the dragon would say something. He did not, he just kept sniffing.
"Well, I guess now we both have an egg, huh? How cool!" Emerald ran up beside Nix as they started again toward the lake. Emerald had the egg in her arms but slowed down her pace to put it in her bag. The bag itself was designed to hold berries and not break or squish them, so as long as she didn't fall backwards, she would be fine. She looked at the woman with a smile. "Isn't it funny how a day could shift so quickly? Anyway, which settlement are you from?"
She looked out at the sun. It would be noon in an hour or two. Maybe they better hurry on to the lake before whoever lost an egg comes back. [1/75]

NIX NIGHT
Night's Shadow Nix did raise an eyebrow as the other human turned and started to talk to her egg, though part of her did wonder wy she had never thought of that. It was a known thing that playing music to plants, eggs and even babies would help them grow so why not speak to them. Her dark eyes shot down to her own egg and she frowned, maybe she should make an effort to speak to it from now on. Her eyes shot back to the other girl as she spoke and nix nodded, "Seems we both have a lot of work to come soon in the future" the red head agreed before the other girl was off and talking once again and nix grinned. She liked this, just talking and walking. Part of her never wanted the lake to arrive as this was fun but she also was tempted to go swimming and so she needed the lake for that, would be hard otherwise. "I was born in New Pallet im told, but raised by my grand mother in Port City most of my life" the girl said, her eyes growing dark on the topic of family, she didnt exactly want to tell the girl to avoid it out right but she knew she would turn different when certain parts of the past werent brought back up.

Emerald spun her bag around and fitted the straps to go around her arms, with the bag on her front torso. It was a tiny adjustment that looked rather odd, but she was able to carry the heavy egg much easier. She looked down at the pokemon-to-be and rubbed the top of its shell. She was very excited that the pokemon was hers, but she wondered how sturdy it actually was. "Isn't it weird how the egg didn't crack? Are the shells reinforced or something? Is this my pokemon's species only that make that? How is your egg?"
Emerald looked out at the wide trees. It was not populated much by wild animals, but scampering could be heard, aside from the three running in close proximity. Emerald felt a bit jealous that the girl grew up in one major city and was born in another of the top settlements. She grew up in a tiny settlement of a few hundred people. Their proximity to New Port gave them little in the way of travelers. They either would make the three-hour trek there for the night or would find no where to stay in the small area and sleep in the safe route 1.
It was a boring life. But it allowed her to learn and grow privately, from most of the public's eye. She wondered how the New Port aided in her growth. "Did it help you? You know, with the profession you're going in?" She was highly curious now.

NIX NIGHT
Night's Shadow Nix smirked as she watched the girl do the same thing as her and the elder girl nodded her head, "I find its easier to carry the egg and keep on eye on it when its on my chest, day like today when i havent got anywhere to go or anything to do i might look daft but i can see it better" she said as she lowered her eyes to her own egg once more and then ran her fingers overs its surface. She wonders if it and the egg her freind had found were the same now, were they from the same litter or was the fact they both had eggs just a chance incident. "Eggs are strong, they need to be able to be kicked in the nest and bumped by older siblings and all those kind of things" she said as the girl commented on the though eggs before topic turned back to her childhood and nix frowned. "No, i hated every second of it. My parents were like my great grand parents, my grandmother loved pretty pokemon and making them look pretty in contests and she tried to make me the same. She wanted be to be good and to be pretty and to get nice pretty pokemon, being in port city meant i was some sort of accessory to her" she said in a voice that dipped in to a growl as she spoke more and more without her even noticing.

Egg: [3/75] Emerald looked at the girl. They were quite smart! Hopefully no one came around and saw their odd bag placement. Emerald also needed to shift her bag items, maybe put some grass at the bottom of the bag, and clean the egg when they got to the lake. She looked at the girl and listened to her idea about the bag. "I wonder if there are pouches like Kangaskhan for humans. I wonder if anyone has found one of those yet! What if it doesn't carry pokemon in its pouch anymore? Well, anyway, I guess my bag is a pretty good place for an egg. It's metal but soft and durable enough for berries. So I think it should be perfect for an egg!"
Emerald spoke to the egg for half of the statement. She wondered if the pokemon could hear her. She knew it was warm, and she hoped te warmth of her body made it feel especially safe. It looked young, and it hadn't moved since being placed in the bag. She then listened to the girl speak about eggshell hardness. It was interesting, and it made sense. She wondered where this egg's brothers and sisters might be. Hopefully she could reunite them, even if it meant losing the pokemon.
Emerald knew she had hit a nerve when the girl spoke. She didn't know what to say. If she had the girl pegged, nothing she could say would make her feel better. She was hurt, and it would not be any different if Emerald said anything to help. So, instead, she tried a different approach. "You know, I had a very...sad mother. She also loved pretty pokemon. She was famous in the old world for contests, and she hoped she could make something like that here. But, you know. Things never work out. It doesn't mean I am required to be the person to do it, though it would be a nice gesture. I am what I make the world out to be. And I want to make it happy and friendly. I don't think you're tied to anything anymore either. Oh, look at me rambling! I even see the lake, look!" Word Count - 365 made by Quilavotto from Shula

NIX NIGHT
Night's Shadow Nix smiled at the other girl as she rambled off about her egg and how to carry it, nix had always carried hers in her bag or in a sling she made from her own shirts and then she could keep the egg close to her and warm. It was a warm season however and nix never knew how warm the egg needed to be so she always kept a good eye on it, running her hands over the egg often as she was now to check and make sure it was cold and wasnt too warm either.
The topic changed again and nix sighed, shaking her head as her friend spoke and nix merely sighed. "My grandmother was not what her parents wanted and my mother was not was her mother wanted so the woman tried to force me to be. I guess its a known thing though, people are themselves and cant be made to be someone else" she said with a roll of her eyes and a shrug of her shoulders as she lifted her head. She could smell water now, the smell of it hitting the sands of a shoreline or maybe it was young fresh grass. A bark from ahead of her told them they were there, or very close and kitzu had dounf the lake

Emerald stared at the woman. She was right. She knew in her heart that her own mother could not force Emerald into being a trainer that strived for beauty. Though it was pretty, it wasn't Emerald. She liked plants! And shaping plants to be something nice and fun was always helpful. Her mother did it to make dyes and poffins, but Emerald wanted to do it to make a pokemon healthy and strong, or to feed a family for a week because of its bounty. Or even hold so much liquid that it could filter dirty ground areas!
"Ah! I can't wait to go into the water! But we should be careful. The lake is usually still. Apparently, if it's not still, something is in the area." Emerald heard this from the locals in her settlement. She knew the dangers of being in an area that had not been used to many things occurring in their small village. So, the stories were quite vivid and told often. One that scared even her mother was of the monster in the lake. Was it some mutated Gyarados? She didn't know. But apparently it liked the taste of people, and she was not ready to find out. Any large ripples would be cause to stay out of the water.
"Okay, Nix?"

NIX NIGHT
Night's Shadow Nix nodded her head as the younger girl spoke, her eyes dark as he mind was in a place she tried never to visit in her mind. Her childhood, spent in pink and yellows dresses, her hair tied back and up, stupid make up on her face, boys telling her how pretty she was and her grand mother telling her how one day she would be married to a man and she would have children and be surrounded by pretty pokemon.
She gave a soft noise, a growl of sorts, as emerald spoke again and her eyes faded back in to focus. That was the one thing she had always hated, she deep down she was merely a pawn to be dressed up and made pretty to be sold on to some male and make her grand mother freind or money and she hated that her looks had grown in. She wanted to look wild like their new world and she never managed it, "I'm fine, so we wanna look for ripples" she said as she caught the end of her freinds words. She could see kitty up ahead now and could even see lucy sitting on the edge of the lake, just in her view line now. Her eyes darted down to her eggs, she was checking on all of her team before she allowed herself to speed up and see the lake for the first time
