Emerald walked out of Port city and headed straight for her next goal: Mirror Lake. Her mother, when they first arrived and made their home here, found Mirror Lake with a small group. They didn't know what to think. It was magnificent, but Emerald's mother never dipped into the beautiful body of water. She felt some reverence to the beauty; the mirror metaphor got deeper and more complex as the woman aged with cancer. Her body because too weak to walk to the lake in her final years, so she spoke of the body like a god. She wasn't religious, but she treated this lake like something next to a religion.
Emerald wanted to see why. She was never allowed to go to see the lake. She obliged, but was unsure as to why. Maybe it housed a very deadly pokemon? She didn't know, but the plants around the area would surely be much healthier than the ones she had. Hopefully. This was one of the healthiest places in all of Mi-aro, vegetation-wise. So she started her first very own self mission with this task. The area had been a bit winding, and she didn't know much where to go. She headed down the path until she became tired.
"Am I going in the wrong direction? Are there any paths to find this thing?" Emerald contemplated, and walked south, hopefully leading the girl to somewhere that would help her. She had lived in a settlement near Port City and never gone too far out the route, so she didn't understand the size of what she was crossing. Hopefully she didn't get caught too far out int he world or stumble upon a large group of pokemon while outside the semi-safe path. When potholes became apparent, Emerald kept her eyes on the holes in the ground. "Hello?"

NIX NIGHT
Night's Shadow Nix had been out in New Pallet for a few days now and hadn't done very much, pokemon didnt seem to be out and she was beginning to get bored when she found herself just thinking of wandering backwards. So she had woken up first thing in the morning, grabbed her back pack, and started back to Port City. This was she could check on the shop she was having built and maybe bump in to some pokemon as a bonus. Kitzu was darting along at her side as she walked, diving in and out of bushes and grasses and then popping back out to look at her before heading in again, he was such an excited little animal but such a good one.
She lowered her hand to her belt and sent out her new pichu, the pokemon looking at her with a blank unhappy look for she hated her pokeball but she too started after kitzu. As he dashed past again, "Come play Lucy!" he called as he disappeared in to the bushes the little pokemon looked from the human to the fox and decided the latter wold be more fun to travel with.
As she walked, Nix found herself listening to the world around her. Soft calls of pokemon in the trees and little paws on the ground close by before they seemed to note her foot falls and flee, it was nice to be able to hear it all for once rather than being so focused on going somewhere or moving to the next spot. She paused and took in a deep breath before she pulled her rucksacke down over one shoulder and peeked inside, she could see her egg wrapped in her spare t-shirt and nodded to herself before she looked up once more and caught the sound of a voice and then turned and looked around, "Who's out here?" she called out as she lowered a hand and felt kitzu come to her side and sit close to her leg so his tail was brushing against her.

Emerald heard a voice yell for her. Well, not yell for her, but she was the only one in the area, so she assumed the other, disembodied voice was for her. Was this some spiritual guide to show her to the lake? She hoped so. The only other alternative swimming in her mind was it was a pokemon trying to lure her to her death. And that would not be very fun. Well, the former sounded nicer, so she tried to speak to the thing asking who was there.
"Ah! I'ts just me! Emerald Price. Who--and where--are you, spirit guide?" Emerald did no know what to think. She was excited that someone was open enough to talk to her. Many people were much more shy than she was, so an open voice calling out--as long as it wouldn't skin her and use her body as food--was a gift to the girl.
Maybe she could even find a group to share the same magical experience as her mother. She wouldn't be as dogmatic in her opinions or reverence to the lake, but she definitely would appreciate it. "I'm just over the hill, if that's what's hiding our bodies." Emerald ran up the hill to face the thing on the other side. She had no clue if it was very far from the hill or right over the slump, but she shouted when she reached the top. The sun was shining when she reached it, so she couldn't see the girl not on the hill.
"Hey!" she shouted as a greeting. She put her hands over her face and saw the woman. She was much older than Emerald, and clearly not a spirit guide. Well, she could hope, couldn't she? "Nice to meet you! Why are you up so early?" She said this as she ran down the hill and towards the woman.

Nix couldnt help but smirk as she heard the other voice call out and talk most oddly, her fennekin beside her laughing a little before they moved forwards only for a girl tp appear before then and to call over the hill. Nix paused a for a moment before she sighed and lifted a hand to wave back to the other girl as she ran down the hill towards her, it seemed nix was going to spend more time with people if she liked it or not.
"I been trying to wander back to Port City with my pokemon but my new feral isnt such a fan right now" she said honestly as she waved a hand and her fennekin barked a greeting but the pichu was no where to been seen. A little darting in the grasses told nix she was there but was not going to come out, nix knew she wasnt a fan of her yet but time would help and nix was depending on that. "How about you, why are you out so early?" she asked the other girl, forgetting for a moment to give her own name of the name of her pokemon.

Emerald looked at the woman and smiled. Her demeanor did not seem harmful, and though she was not a spirit guide, she would certainly suffice at keeping her company on the way to the Mirror Lake, wherever that was. "Hello! How are you, Fennekin?" Emerald wondered how this pokemon was feral yet so...tame, for lack of a better word. It seemed pretty close to being tame if she considered it feral. The slight rustling and looking around by the woman made Emerald think that this wasn't her only pokemon.
"What is your feral's species? And I am trying to get to Port city, too! I need to make a slight stop to Mirror Lake, if you wouldn't mind accompanying me?" She hoped the girl would say yes, as she might just end up going the exact wrong direction if she did decline. She looked up at the sun; it was still very early out. She heard more rustling, as the pokemon seemed to trying to attract attention, but on its terms.
"Your pokemon seems to be trying to tell you something," she said, in a playful matter. She wondered why she was not given a name of the person. She didn't know anything about this person. And instead of being wary of it, she assumed it was need-to-know information. Maybe it was Nguyen checking up on her already! She had no clue, but she was the one contacted, so it could definitely be a possibility.
That would just mean that she would need to prove herself even more than before to this person. No giving up, no crying, no bad behavior. Well, of course she could be her same ditzy, Emerald self. That would be fine. But her actions needed to be smarter. She decided this all from a lack of words, though the thought of this being a coincidence was not in Emerald's mind at all. "Are you ready to go?"

NIX NIGHT
Night's Shadow Nix watched as the girl addressed her partner and nix smiled softly, "This is Kitzu, he's a little bouncy at the moment but hes a good kid. My Feral is a Pichu, will be called Lucy one day but shes still not a big fan of me or pokeballs so i try to let her out and give her space" the red head said with a wave of her hand as the grasses moved again at her words. She heard a mew like noise, something she assumed was her pichu agreeing with her on the dislike part of the sentence.
"I'd be happy to travel with you, i have never seen the lake myself so it might be fun. Also, i forget before but gave you the names of the pokemon. My name is Nix, Nix Night" she said with a smile, her face hiding the fact she was waiting for a comment about her family. She always did, she almost expected everyone to comment on it even though very few ever did anymore. It was a childhood worry gone mad, she was putting it down to that.
She turned and waved her hand to the grasses that didnt want to move as she stood here, nodding to the other trainer as she waited. "Come on Lucy, the humans are going to explore and we dont want to leave you behind" the fire type piped up as he watched the grasses, waiting for the flicker of yellow that appeared for a small moment before he nodded to his trainer who smiled and turned to start walking once again

Emerald smiled at Kitzu. The fire type looked gorgeous to her. "Well, hello there!" She then listened on about the feral pokemon pichu. It sounded energetic and lively, which made Emerald want to play with the pokemon more. Saly, she didn't think the pokemon would be so keen to playing with her. "That's smart! I can't wait until I get my first wild pokemon. Befriending it sounds so fun and rewarding! I hope you and Pichu make great partners!" Emerald looked back around at some rustling and smiled. "I would be so lucky to have a pokemon that energetic!"
With the response of a name, Emerald felt nothing. There was a slight pause, which Emerald did not pick up as just the end of a sentence or something else. The name did not stick out to her, other than the subtle alliteration in her name. She smiled and spoke to the woman: "That's an awesome name! And yes, let's head off to the lake. You know, I've never been, either. My mom loved it, but she never let me go."
Emerald spoke about her mother for the first time with another person then, with Nix. She wondered why it was so easy to speak about. She didn't know why.
Their trek through the area seemed to take a while. Emerald kept tripping over holes in the ground, and the sun was rising much more quickly than before. "So, how did you catch your wild Pichu?" Hopefully starting up conversation about them would be a good way to connect.

NIX NIGHT
Night's Shadow Kiztu gave a bark as he was addressed, flicking his tail back and forth as the other human spoke about him and the other pokemon and he looked back over his shoulder and noted the females ears again. She watched the two humans as they spoke before ducking out off the bushes and darting over in front of the humans and starting to walk ahead of them. Nix watched her as she moved and she smiled, turning her gaze to the younger girl and nodding to her. "Well she actually found 3 ferals, all together. I tried to battle lucy and she didnt do a very good job of attacking and hit a nearby pidove so i had to run 2 battles side by side to catch her" she said in a long breath before she looked ahead to see lucy sitting in the path way, nix grinned at his and then bent down and held out a hand.
Of course the pichu did not move, but nix pulled her ruck sack over to one side and then pulled it open and looked inside. She pulled out the egg inside, running her fingers over it to check for cracks for a moment before she pulled out a Large Corka and then offered it to the pokemon. She looked at it for a moment before she dived for it and grabbed it before running off in to the bushes and nix could hear her chewing on it.

Emerald listened to the story. It was thrilling! Emerald got excited when listening to the story, and she wanted to know more. "Did you think you were going to die? When you looked at Pichu--Lucy--did you know deep down in your heart that this was the pokemon for you?" Emerald had gotten terribly excited; she started skipping, her voice changing dynamics and tone to sound less like a child and more like an over-enthused cheerleader hearing the best gossip. She circled the woman excitedly, but she stopped when the Pichu presented itself.
"Hello there!" The pokemon took the meat and ran off. Small noises could be heard of her pokemon eating the meat. Emerald did not like the food because she thought even a tiny, defenseless, barely functioning animal should not be bred to be slaughtered. She turned away from the small transaction of food for love. When the noises could be heard, Em spoke over them with, "So, do you know what egg that is? You are going to have so many pokemon already! Wow." Emerald was so happy for the woman. She had an egg, a feral, and her starter. She was so ahead and ready for her own adventure. Emerald had her starter, sleeping, but she knew when the sun rose just a bit higher she would show off her pokemon.
"My pokemon is sleeping. I can send gible out once I've decided on a name. I actually just got gible today!" She hoped this wouldn't be shocking the girl with her new, green self. She was actually starting her journey today, and this woman seemed leagues ahead of where Emerald was. But the teen didn't care, and hopefully the woman didn't either.

NIX NIGHT
Night's Shadow Nix couldnt help but smirk as the girl spoke once more, her eyes moving to her from the egg in her bag. She knew she checked in on the egg far too much and she really didnt need to but she couldnt help it, she always worried about her pokemon at the best of times and this was a tiny little newborn. "I trust kitty, i know he could fight to the end to keep me safe and i would do the same for him. I have enough weapons on me to defend myself and him" she said with a pause to lift the side of her t-shirt and show the antler dagger along side her other and grinned. "i got a shield in the bag too and everything, but i wanted her enough to fight for her and i hope that comes across" nix continued as she looked up and saw the grasses pause in there movement before it seemed the pichu just kept eating.
Then the topic turned to her egg, nix grinned once more and stood up with her ruck sack now on her front to keep the egg in sight as she spoke about it. "I found if after my first battle, i just caught a skunky to sell back in the city when i noted it had this egg close by. I dont think it is one though the pokemon was far too young" she said with a tilt of her head before the girl spoke about her own pokemon and nix nodded, "Your starter pokemon is always a good step to your ambitions, just remember to treat em well and they'll treat you well" the elder girl said with a knowing wink.
