ENDRE
A human sanctuary. One of the only two hamlets of existence for his species in this great wide unexplored world. Someday, though.. Someday he'd see more of this world. Now, with Emrik with him.
Before that, though.. Endre smiled. "Seems like that's probably all the Anorith around here." There were enough people around this area that someone was certain to be making a ruckus if they saw one of the invaders. "Let's find a place to rest and get patched up." Emrik cracked a smirk. After three days together, he was pretty sure that translated to taking a nap.
---
Endre hadn't felt like returning to the inn yet, certain he wouldn't feel like leaving if he did. He also wasn't used to staying indoors for very long at a time. Truth be told, he was certainly concerned with driving out the swarm before heading off, but he was also a bit afraid for Emrik. He wasn't sure if the little guy was ready for the wilderness yet- perhaps in an ironic inversion on the normal trainer and Pokemon relationship..
Endre knew of a lovely little cavelet on the edge of town near the shore, though. It was one of his favorite places to rest. So he'd tended his wound better, and seen to Emrik's various little cuts and scrapes. That mark across his chest wasn't bad, but it was gonna take a while for the fur there to grow back properly. Then, indeed, they had a very lovely nap.
Well, mostly Endre did. Emrik slept a bit as well, but more just relaxed and kept watch. He didn't understand how anyone could sleep this much. Endre was having a wonderful dream, however, and didn't particularly care what anyone else thought. In fact, when he woke, he suddenly had a wonderful idea of what to do with his prey of the day.
---
Late Afternoon
Endre removed the Anorith corpse and began doing his best to dismantle it. Emrik's strength came in very handy for this, as did Endre's sword. He was going to have to pick up a proper knife at some point though as to keep his weapon in good shape. First he just separated the frilly bits and tore it to pieces, removing the legs and claws and such; Emrik really still wasn't sure he was okay with this and his stomach kept turning when he tried to watch or had to help but he kept telling himself he'd probably been eating the same thing all along. Time to be a man and make his food himself.. he guessed..
Once he had all the pieces, Endre managed to get a claw cracked open and-- yes! That did look like Clauncher meat! (*Olive approved*) Awesome. If he recalled correctly, being moist was pretty important for the integrity of such meats, so jerky was out of the question, but it was free food tonight. Granted, he could go to the inn and also get free food, but that was rationed (and based on people less large than himself) and not as.. interesting, he supposed. This would be a change of pace. Besides, if he was still hungry, there was more food to be had. If he wasn't, that was more food for everyone else. It wouldn't make a huge difference in the town's stores, but in a world like this, every bit mattered.
So now to start cooking.. The sea water would do fine for this, and with this cave being one of his favorite places to stay when in town he did keep firewood and some basic supplies here. He made his way over to a large crate (with "Property of Endre Arthmael" hand painted on the side, the letters kind of worn and hard to read after so many years) which was already open from his retrieving a bedroll earlier. Looking in now, he could see two pots, a pan, all of the clothing he owned that wasn't in his bag, and various other belongings of his. Retrieving the larger pot, he handed it to Emrik. "Go fill this with water, please." Emrik nodded and headed off.
In the meantime, Endre set up a few pieces of firewood and retrieved a piece of flint from his bag. He actually had a small piece of steel in his bag for this very reason but his sword was already out..no he didn't just think it would be cooler. Striking it, he managed to get a spark and had a small fire going by the time Emrik returned. He then retrieved a sort of rack to set over the fire, put the water on that, and began tossing what pieces of the Anorith would fit in the water. "Now we wait~"

Evening
Oh sweet Arceus this was the most amazing thing Emrik had ever put in his mouth how had he not had this before precious merciful creator hunting was the greatest thing ever.
Endre watched his partner eating and wasn't sure whether he should feel amused or uncomfortable at just how much he was enjoying that. "I'm glad you like it," he chuckled anyway, savoring his own portion rather more, eating it slowly. ..or as slowly as he could manage. It was pretty good, and after inn rations for the past three days he was pretty hungry.
After the meal, he made sure the shells were thoroughly cleaned, planning to use them for reasons. Then he put his supplies away and... actually it was getting pretty late. They could probably head out again in the morning...
Emrik wasn't really surprised, but was kind of grateful for a change. He was pretty sure he ate too much...

January 7, Year 1, Late Morning
When Endre and Emrik awoke, they finished packing up their little camp and headed back into town, feeling refreshed. Perhaps they'd find some more Anorith today, or some other interesting Pokemon.
...Instead, they were met by a woman's calling. "Oh, you! Endray, right?" Close enough. He turned inquisitively. "All these nasty Anorith have simply wrecked my store. Do you think you could give me a hand?"
Emrik was eager to get back to fighting and looked up to Endre with a sort of 'do we have to' look, but Endre just smiled at him and then the woman. "We would love to, ma'am." Emrik sighed.

Jan 23, Year 1, Late Morning
Holy. Fucking. Shit that woman had worked them like dogs. Emrik hadn't seen a whole lot of human shops-- or really any aside from those they had to visit for parts during this little endeavor-- but he was about 97% sure that that particular shop had not been half as nice when the Anorith wrecked it as he and Endre had finally been able to leave it. She hadn't even paid them!
Somehow, Endre didn't seem to mind. In fact, he always seemed totally happy around her. It was ridiculous. Seriously, did anything bother this g--.. well, Anorith screams and food issues, apparently. Emrik coughed a bit to himself. Did anything else get under his skin?
The Pancham couldn't imagine what could make him so perfectly content to spend two fucking weeks being her slave. It was like every waking moment was spent on some project or other. She barely even gave them time for breaks! At least she did give them plenty of time to sleep at night.. Though Emrik was made to sleep in his PokeBall pretty often, which he still wanted a valid explanation for. He'd scarcely been in it at all since leaving the Emissary aside from those nights. What, did Endre have something to hide?
...Maybe he was a werewolf. Yeah, that seemed about as likely as anything else he could come up with. Humans.
Well, at least they were finally away from that God awful place and now could get back to looking for wild Pokemon. From news around town, it sounded like there were probably still some swarm stragglers, and there were lots of other things that would give him a good test of strength and practice for the wilderness. Yeah!!
