| "I see." Gwen responded with exaggerated interest. So apparently she was their guinea pig. Looking to the Zebstrika, she wondered what it thought of this whole deal, though it didn't seem to be paying attention or reacting much for Gwen to really tell what it might be thinking. Gwen herself was a little skeptical about the whole deal herself, and something told her this could be a bad idea.
After some thought though, she shook her head. "Well, I'm afraid I am going to have to decline kids. I've had a pretty long day, and I believe hopping on a Zebstrika's back would be pushing it." She told them, before turning to continue on her way. She paused for a moment though. "But for the record, I have to agree with your friend there. Your Zebstrika looks pretty well trained, but there's more to pokemon than training. Friendship and trust is important, and you can't really expect a pokémon to let a complete stranger on it's back. Would you?" She said, leaving the kids to ponder on that as she continued on her way towards the inn.

Gwen's words seemed to absolutely infuriate the girl, who began not screaming but screeching at her in turn. "You're just as bad-- you're WORSE than him! You're worse than any of them! How DARE you-" They weren't exactly chasing Gwen, so the words became less and less distinct the farther Gwen got. There was something about a complete lack of understanding of what the term 'properly trained' meant, something about feeling sorry for Gwen's Pokemon for having such a something-or-other trainer, quite a few words thrown in that would make sailors blush or.. even question? What was that insult supposed to mean?
The tirade went on until Gwen had legitimately left earshot, and even then if she hit a spot where there was very little background noise and listened closely, she might still hear a very faint buzz of a voice in the distance. Clearly, she had not only taken those words very personally but as an insult to her beloved Pokemon.
The trip back to the inn was otherwise pretty uneventful. Once Gwen half-bumped into an elderly woman, but she quickly excused herself and disappeared into a nearby house. Again there were a few shadows or distant sounds of birds but no other signs of Pokemon life.
That is, until she got to the inn itself. Sitting there squarely on the slab in front of the door was a somewhat large.. Binacle? It was nothing like the massively-mutated Armaldo that had plagued the city, just sort of above average, something that wouldn't have even looked out of place on PokeEarth, though that probably wouldn't have been Gwen's first comparison given her age. More importantly, though, what was it doing here? Why had no one else messed with it yet? The inn was chock full of trainers, wasn't it? Had no one noticed? It.. it wasn't like Binacle were known for their speed or even particularly mobile. So what-...
Well, one way or another, it was fight it, try to step over it, or find another inn, considering its position.
Its left face seemed to puff its cheeks a little- quite a feat for something made of rock- and squint at Gwen, while the right one.. yawned.. and.. Well it seemed to be using the back of the left head like a hand to mock a patting motion at its mouth to emphasize that yawn. So were these things heads or hands, really? Eh.

| Gwen did hear the girl shouting expletives at her, but she did not react in the slightest. Shame, she thought she had left them with some good advice to think about. Instead it was apparent that she had managed to horribly offend the girl, even though she wasn't entirely sure what exactly she had said to anger her so. After only little consideration, Gwen could only conclude that there was some sort of misinterpretation, or otherwise the girl was simply a preteen being a preteen.
Her walk continued on peacefully and uneventfully, and soon she reached the inn, and for a moment she thought she was done for the day, only to discover that the door was being blocked by one of the most bizarre pokemon she every laid eyes on -- a binacle. Pursing her lips, she pondered her options. How did a Binacle find itself in the middle of town to begin with? "Could you please move out of the doorway so I can get by?" She asked tentatively, waving her hand in a shooing motion.
Okay, she didn't really expect the pokemon to understand her, given that it was very likely a feral pokemon. It was every bit possible though, that this was another trainer's pokemon, and maybe it was tame? It would explain why it was so far into town after all. In any case it was worth a shot, over taking more drastic action right off the bat.

Left-Binacle looked rather puzzled- and possibly slightly offended- by the funny noises coming from this large creature. In turn, Right-Binacle leaned over and seemed to whisper in- did Binacle have ears? Well it whispered in its partner's general direction, at least. Left-Binacle turned to react to this and the two seemed to carry on some sort of conversation; it was unclear whether the Right one actually understood Gwen better or had something totally unrelated to say, but the conversation ended with Left suddenly seeming to have an appalling realization. After that, both heands turned away and offered a rather rude gesture for which they each had just enough digits.

| Gwen waited patiently as the two Binacle heads discussed something together, only to have them grace her with a very lewd gesture. Gwen could only fix them with a somewhat bemused expression. "Don't know English, but you know enough to understand one of humanity's more obscene hand signals." She noted in a slightly amused tone, not sounding particularly abashed by the Binacle's response to her.
Regardless of the Binacle's feelings toward her though, she still needed to get by it, and she was sure other people would need to as well. "If that's how you'll have it though, I suppose we do this the hard way." She said as she ran her fingers over the poke balls attached to her shoulder bag. Binacle was a water/rock type, not something most of the pokemon she had on her could really deal with. Still, it was getting tiresome sending Sakura out after everything, even if the Mawile was always eager to battle.
Gwen's finger's slipped past the steel type's poke ball, and instead fell on the third one down, belonging to her first, and strongest of the Anorith she had captured. Clipping it off, she threw the ball, releasing the Anorith in front of the Binacle. Getting the bug's attention with a snap of her fingers, she kept eye contact with it, and pointed at Binacle before making a slashing motion with her hands. "Scratch it." She told it.
Gwen knew it wouldn't likely be all that effective against the rock type, but it was the simplest instruction to mime out, and if she could just get it attacking the binacle, then the battle might at least proceed even if the Anorith didn't really understand her instructions perfectly.

Anorith gave Gwen a somewhat puzzled look, but performed the action anyway. It wasn't totally clear whether it understood or just felt like fighting, but whatever. Naturally, the Scratch didn't do much damage-- did it?
Actually, was that a crack? Indeed, the Binacle seemed to be cracking all over... then shattered! ... Wait. Their outer layer shattered. The beast looked slightly slimmer now, as well as highly irritated at the Anorith.

| "Very good scratch! Very good!" Gwen said in the happiest, most pleased tone she could muster, hoping that it would hopefully soon catch on that "scratch" meant exactly what it had just did. The scratch was followed by the Binacle's shell cracking up, before it's outer layer shattered altogether. Scratch didn't do that... She thought. Shell smash, she could only guess, and assuming that was right, this might put Anorith in trouble.
Unfortunately though, given the language barrier and her Anorith's limited move set, she didn't have a lot of options beyond recalling the Anorith before it ended up fainting. Before that though, she hoped it could at least get a few more hits in before she had her next pokemon take over. "Scratch! Scratch it!" Gwen repeated, pointing at the Binacle again. Or a water gun would be really nice, though she couldn't really think of how to get that across while in mid-battle.

The Anorith did use Scratch successfully, to the Binacle's mild irritation. Seeming to read Gwen's mind, Binacle did use Water Gun, soaking the little bug. It may have seemed a bit ironic, given the creature was aquatic by nature, that the attack should affect it as it did. This was just one more reminder, however, that Pokemon Types were named after what they resembled rather than what they were, and that in this case specifically a Water-type attack was not quite the same as being splashed with ordinary water.

| "Dodge... Nevermind." Gwen said as the Binacle fired a water gun attack on her Anorith, that ended up landing before he could react, even if he could understand the command. Unfortunate. She thought as she pulled out Anorith's poke ball once again. "Return." She muttered as the ball shot a red beam at the hit anorith, absorbing the feral pokemon back inside.
She had hoped it could have lasted a little longer, but given the severe disadvantage they had with the lack of very effective moves and communication, it seemed pointless to subject the Anorith to a battle it had little hope of winning. Once Anorith was safely clipped to her bag, she then took Sakura's poke ball, enlarging it. Getting an idea, she tossed it over the Binacle's heads, where it hit the wooden door behind it before releasing Sakura behind it. "Iron head."
There wasn't a considerable amount of space between the door and her opponent, but nonetheless, Sakura ducked her head as it began to harden, and she jumped up, and kicked off from the door to launch herself at the Binacle. While it being a water type would mean the steel type attack wouldn't do as much as it could, it also being a rock type meant that it wouldn't be a weak attack either. Gwen hoped that this move would at least get the Binacle out of the door way.

Indeed, there was less "launching" from the door and more just pushing against it to leverage against the Binacle. It seemed to be working upon initial contact only to pause for a few seconds as the Binacle's unseen grip on the ground tightened and Sakura found herself squished between it and the door. Tension dripped from the scene as neither side seemed willing to give in, but finally the Binacle could hold on no longer and went flying; Gwen barely had time to sidestep it. It seemed the release from all that build-up had caused him to hit the wall across the street harder than it would have if it had just taken the hit, if it had flown so far at all. At any rate, the Binacle fell from the wall to the ground, and didn't quiiiite seem unconscious, but did seem rather struggling to move at the moment.

Anorith(1) gains 5 exp. Sakura gains 5 exp. Gwen gains 0.1 Observation. Gwen gains 0.2 Adaptablity.
