| Fortunately, it didn't seem like the move had attracted any more pokemon to their position. Which was probably good, because otherwise it probably would likely mean a fight. Gwen certainly wouldn't be taking her chances trying to befriend multiple ferals at once. The lunatone though, seemed to be effected by the sweet scent, but then it suddenly turned it's attention on Sakura.
The mawile met it's gaze, and suddenly she heard a voice. She couldn't understand any of the words, but regardless the sound was hypnotic. Suddenly realizing what was happening, Mawile shook her head, resisting the hypnosis attack. "Ma wi wile!" She exclaimed loudly, pointing an accusing finger at the Lunatone.
Gwen could almost see Sakura's expression turn blank, just moments before she snapped too and suddenly got angry. Well, that was that, if it was going to attack, then she wasn't going to waste time trying to be friendly in spite of it. "Alright then. Use Iron head." Gwen instructed, and the Mawile all too eagerly charged head first at the Lunatone.

The Lunatone attempted to dodge the Iron Head by floating higher, but its reaction was dulled by the Sweet Scent, and didn't even manage to reduce a head-on attack (pun intended) to a glancing blow. Given the the level difference and type effectiveness, not to mention same-type-attack-bonus, well... The Lunatone was knocked back by the steely impact, and dropped out of the air as it lost consciousness. That... sure was anticlimactic.

- Lunatone was defeated!
- Mawile gains 11 Exp!

| Sakura had nailed the Lunatone with her attack, and the rock type immediately fainted. Gwen hesitated for a moment, uncertain if the pokemon would get up again or not. "That was... easy." Gwen noted as she reached into her bag for an empty poke ball.
Sakura was taken by surprise by the sudden victory as well. At first, she frowned, actually feeling a bit disappointed that the battle had ended so quickly. That soon faded though, a victory was a victory after all. <Ha! I'm getting way strong!> She exclaimed, while throwing a few punches at the air in her excitement.
"Don't let one easy battle embolden you so easily." Gwen warned as she tossed a poke ball at the Lunatone. It was true that Sakura was getting a lot stronger, but Gwen had no illusions about this victory being about strength. The pokemon around this city weren't all that strong, so it was only natural that they'd go down fairly easily, especially against super effective attacks. Hopefully pokemon in later routes would present more of a challenge, but until this anorith situation was dealt with, Gwen planned to stay put.

The ball shook once... twice... Wow that third shake was vigorous! How did a fainted Pokémon put so much fight into trying to not be caught? Must be the Psychic typing. Eventually, it died down and...click!
Species: Lunatone Lvl: 2 Attacks: Magic Room, Harden, Confusion, Hypnosis Mutation: Small TP: 45 [x1 Pokéball removed from your inventory.]
Upon successful capture, the air cleared of any uneasy feeling. ...Wait, what? Not after it fainted, but after it was captured? Huh. Well, at least the Pokéball did, in fact, seem to fully contain its psychic abilities.

| Gwen watched as the poke ball shook back and forth rather wildly. It seemed that the Lunatone was quite a fighter, even when fainted, or maybe it hadn't really fainted at all. Regardless though, it eventually became still, emitting the single tone that indicated another successful capture for her. Without further ado, she scooped up the ball, which promptly vanished in her hands due to her already full team.
Though the encounter had been rather anti-climactic, it had been rather refreshing to encounter something that wasn't an anorith. Deciding to make a stop at the Inn to make use of the PC service, she returned Sakura to her poke ball and headed straight for the building, only sparing a brief glance down the alleyways she passed in case something interesting appeared. Once there, Gwen walked up to the machine, placing the poke balls for Anorith 2 and 3 on the transporter and depositing them. Once the two poke balls vanished into her PC, Gwen then selected Anorith 4 and Lunatone for withdwal, and within moments the two poke balls appeared.
Scooping up the two poke balls and clipping them to her bag, she immediately left the Inn and set back out on the streets of Port City. Though it was starting to get later into the day, Gwen figured she could still find a lingering swarm anorith, or something else before the day was completely through.

[Confirmed, though of course from here on you'll have to actually use them. Although I just talked to Olive and will be adding a tiny thing to TP rules you might like momentarily. :3]
-----
As Gwen walked around the city, the Pokemon population seemed to be mostly in hididng. A few times birds passed overhead, but were either way to high to even dream of getting down or gone before Gwen could even get a clear look of what they were. Once she saw a Poochyena-- or probably one?-- dart into an alleyway, but it seemed to disappear after that. Twice more she thought she saw rather rare Pokemon for these parts-- only to realize that was because they were owned by trainers. All in all, though, the city wasn't quite barren of Pokemon, but there were none around suitable for her cause, it seemed.
The human population, however, was quite bustling. It wasn't especially crowded anywhere, but she did see a few more people than usual even in places that were normally fairly secluded. Perhaps it was this weather? The Watchog saw no shadow this year (if anyone still held such traditions; society had become a bit of a hodgepodge culturally) so things were starting to warm up a little early and everyone seemed to have spring fever. That or there was some big party planned and Gwen was the last one to know.
At one point, she passed two kids- preteens really- arguing near a Zebstrika. The girl seemed rather insistent about something, while the boy seemed rather reluctant and maybe a bit scared. Suddenly the girl called out. "Hey lady! You, tall one, black hair! Would you help us settle something?"

| Though she had managed to come across the Lunatone, besides that one encounter Gwendolyn's luck hadn't really changed as she headed deeper into the city. Her gaze fell on one possible encounter, but whatever the pokemon was, it bolted out of sight before she could so much as pull a poke ball out. Yawning a bit, she could only keep searching, or she could simply give up and head for the inn already.
After a while of fruitless searching, giving up was looking to be her best option. She was finding no pokemon, and it seemed that even though the sky was growing darker and darker, the streets were getting more and more busy. It was another sign that the anorith crisis was about over, and people must have been rushing out to finish what errands they could now that they weren't under threat of being ambushed by feral bugs.
Deciding that it would probably be a better idea to just head to the inn for the night, Gwen turned back the way she had come. Before she could reach it though, she found herself stopped by a small group of kids who looked to be half her age. "I can hear you." Gwen said tonelessly as the kid who called out began listing off various aspects of her description. She could have just ignored them, but she guessed she still had time to entertain whatever these kids were up to. Approaching the group, her gaze shifted between the three of them and the Zebstrika that was with them. "Alright, so what is it?"

Upon closer inspection, the girl may actually have been a bit older than she'd first appeared, though it was hard to say. Her features certainly looked more mature than the boy's, though she was a bit shorter than him. Whether she was more mid-teens and just short for her age or in fact in the 11-13 range and just looking a bit mature for her age would probably remain a mystery, as it stood. Regardless, she was definitely outspoken. "You got any experience riding Zebstrika?"
The boy flinched a bit just at the word. To the girl rather than Gwen, he began, "Y-ya know, they aren't r-really that c-com-"
"That's the point, ding-dong," the girl interrupted him. For all that she was being a bit rude, there did seem to be something of an affectionate tone to her voice, if one that might be overlooked, and the boy did not seem to react any more strongly to this than anything else she said.

| Gwen blinked when the girl asked if she had any experience riding Zebstrika. She gave the Zebrstrika a sidewards glance, before shaking her head. "I can't say that I have, kid." She replied. Granted, she actually did have a saddle with her, but she had never had any opportunity to use it seeing as all her pokemon were far too small and mostly feral to even think of riding. She only even had it because an elder man had given it away.
She glanced between the girl and the first boy, not really sure what to make of the bickering tone between the two. Were they supposed to be friends? Siblings maybe? She didn't really pay much more mind to it. How they treated each other was their own business, and she hadn't come out here to learn about preteen social rules. "What is this about anyway?" She asked, somewhat curious now that she had been pulled into this whole conversation.

The girl gave a somewhat smug look. "I'm trying to prove to Liam here that anyone can ride a Zebstrika as long as it's been trained right, and this one definitely has!" That she had been the one to train it would probably be a fairly safe guess, though she may have just greatly admired whoever did. "But he's being a scaredy-Skitty about it."
Liam, in turn, looked away and mumbled something under his breath. If Gwen was paying attention, she might have heard, "That's because you're crazy.." or seen his face flush; but he seemed to be going out of his way not to call attention to himself, and the girl didn't seem to react if she heard him.
