Lilith scowled at how both attacks more or less backfired. At least Ignis' attack hadn't backfired so much as it had been ineffective. However, Vesper hadn't fared well at all. Her attack had not only been ineffective, it had managed to stun her slightly. As her small purple body bounced off the spinning pokemon, she managed to smack herself against the wall of the hole pretty hard. For a moment, small yellow stars swirled behind her eyes, and she had to blink a few times to get the world in focus.
When she did, Vesper let out an alarmed chirp. The Noibat had been expecting the spinning Drilbur to focus his attack on her. Instead, he was now moving steadily in the direction of Lilith and Ignis. Both the woman and the fire type noticed this shortly after. Ignis barked a needless warning, as Lilith had already realized the danger. She quickly looked to the sides of the crevice she had fallen into. The earth was soft and crumbling as it. It was clearly it would not support her weight. Her green eyes looked back at the two Roggenrola who had cowered in the far corner and had not made a peep since. She then looked at her Noibat and Houndour.
Her mind quickly went through the possible options available. She could make an attempt to get out. If she managed, which Lilith deemed unlikely given the state of the ground, it would leave the two Roggenrola open to attack. Their lack of vision would leave them open to the brutal attack. She could withdraw Ignis who stood protectively before her and she herself could take the attack, but Lilith didn't necessarily want to die in the hole. Her last option wasn't exactly one she was fond of, she would have to use her pokemon as a physical shield to protect herself.
Taking a deep breathe, Lilith realized her last option was the only one she really had available. "Vesper, Ignis, to me!" She called, watching in fear as the Drilbur steadily advanced. Ignis stepped back, nearly his trainer, but never taking his eyes off the approaching threat. Vesper quickly took the air, flying unsteadily back towards Lilith and landing next to the Houndour. "When I say so, launch another supersonic, Vesper." Lilith said, hoping that the proximity would land the confusing attack and possibly give them the edge. "Ignis, use ember after Vesper attacks. Aim for the Drilbur's feet, maybe we can knock him off balance..." Although Lilith said it with confidence, her voice trailed off. If the attack didn't work, both Vesper and Ignis were poised to take the brunt. Her hand absently went to the egg nestled safetly within the pokeball at her waist. At least whoever would emerge didn't have to deal with the current threat.
Although her intentions were left unsaid, it was clear that Lilith was using her pokemon as a shield. The two exchanged a quick glance. Ignis nodded ever so slightly, and turned his attention back to his attacker. He would protect Lilith, even if it meant death... That was the Houndour creed. Vesper was visibly shaking, not exactly aware of her companion's determination.
"Just a few more feet...." Lilith said, watching as the Drilbur closed in, officially leaving the trio no room to run or dodge. "Almost... almost... Vesper, NOW!" Lilith screamed, clapping her hands over her ears in anticipation.
Vesper let out a supersonic attack. The high pitched scream echoed painfully in the small hole. Despite having her ears covered, the woman shuddered as the sound pierced her ears. A small throbbing headache was already beginning to build, and the almost unbearable sound didn't help. Ignis waited until Vesper finished to launch his attack, sending a massive ball of ember at the feet of the Drilbur.

The crater was getting smaller and smaller as the Drilbur approached, its spinning spade like claws threatening the rogue and her Pokemon with a certain and very bloody death. When it seemed like for certain that Lilith, Ignis and Vesper were going to be a puree paste of blood, the two Pokemon launched their counter attack. To her credit, the mercenary actually designed a very practical attack, which is why the plan actually worked. Not to mention, this was likely a sigh of relief for her, considering the last plan fell slightly....short of the main outcome.
As Vesper's supersonic continued to reverberate around the crater they were in, the Drilbur's speed would slowly start to dip, before the mole stopped spinning completely. If Lilith looked at the wild Pokemon, she would notice the two thin lines of blood dripping from the ear holes of the wild Pokemon. Stumbling around as if it was drunk, the mole had a pained expression on its face, likely from its now ruptured eardrums.
It was the perfect moment for Ignis and the chest and stomach of the mole Pokemon were peppered with the ember pieces, causing it to cry more. Falling backwards, the Drilbur looked up at the mercenary with its tiny, beady eyes, its star shaped nose working overtime to distinguish the smells.
With a last ditch effort at defending itself, the burnt mole jumped up to its feet and rushed at Ignis with his claws, its spade shaped glows glowing slightly as it attempted to scratch out Ignis's eyes.

The woman watched in grim curiosity as the time seemed to slow down. As the Drilbur approached, all Lilith could focus on was the glint of silver as the pokemon spun, it's large claws nothing but a blur. She could hear her hear beating impossibly fast at the very real fear of dying began to creep into her head. In a moment her life would flash before her eyes, if not for her team pulling it together and launching it's attack.
The plan worked perfectly, as if by the grace of Arceus itself. Vesper managed to land her supersonic perfectly. The high pitched screech echoed angrily throughout the hole. The Drilbur wasn't the only one with pained ears. Although Lilith had managed to cover her own ears, the sound still managed to creep through. Even after removing her hands, a slight ringing in her ears remained. Lilith's hands brushed the pokeballs at her belt protectively as they fell to her side, making sure the egg hidden within hadn't been harmed.
Lilith cheered as Ignis managed to land his attack as well. The yelping from the Drilbur was all the confirmation she needed to know he had not only made his attack, but it had hurt. Of course, this victory didn't last long. Despite the Drilbur's bleeding ear holes and burnt stomach, it still managed to get back up and attack. As Lilith cried out a warning, Ignis managed to turn his face away from the attack. Although he managed to protect his delicate eyes, he couldn't quite avoid the claws as they tore at his neck and side.
The fire type yelped in pain, withdrawing from his opponent and cowering back towards Lilith. The woman cursed under her breathe, realizing that Ignis was done. Any more and he would find himself fainted, which wasn't something the woman was equipped to deal with just yet. "Vesper, use tackle!" She cried, hoping her flying type would be able to finish the battle before the Drilbur launched another attack. With Ignis down, there was nothing standing between her and the claws poised to kill her if given the chance.
Vesper launched herself at full speed towards the Drilbur, hoping the take advantage of the pokemon's deafness as she rushed in from the side.

Drilbur gave a sick smile of satisfaction at the successful strike against the fire canine, going so far as to lick the blood off of his claws. Nasty, considering the dirt on them.
However, he would get his as the Noibat came zooming in from the side, colliding with the mole Pokemon. The momentum behind the baby dragon was enough to push the much heavier mole and slammed him into the wall of the cavern. The sharp, spade like claws of the mole stuck into the soft sides of the small pit and he couldn't get them out. Struggling and yanking, the mole was so disoriented and injured that it slumped to the ground, completely exhausted and sapped of energy. Finally, it had been defeated.
The two wild Roggenrola still huddled in the corner of the pit, scared and worried now that the angry woman would turn her attention on them, since the Drilbur was down. Though...they did appreciate the fact that she knocked it out, saving them in the process.
Lilith had the opportunity to catch the beast if she wanted to, though it was unlikely going to be a smooth first meeting if she captured it. While using the poke ball [if she chooses to], she would notice more bones that were exposed due to the fighting. Much of the skeleton looked human, but a very distinct, canine looking skull was also buried with the remains of the person. It appeared that whoever this person was, they died with their Pokemon by their side. As depressing as that is, it was also nice in a way, that at least the man died with his partner by his side.
Something shined through the dirt, and if Lilith looked again, she would see that a poke ball was sitting in the dirt, seemingly knocked off the old belt of the trainer. Poor Pokemon! Touching it would yield a warm feeling, indicating that there was a Pokemon in that capsule.
Could Lilith really walk away and leave a Pokemon like that? With this man dead, it would only be to her benefit to rescue that poor Pokemon, especially with Ignis so injured. The question was, though, would the Pokemon take kindly to a new trainer?

Lilith couldn't help but cheer when Vesper swooped in and ended the battle. A unrestrained cry bursting from her throat as her hands clapped together in delight. It was a reaction she would later explain away due to the stress of the previous battle, but for now, she wanted to relish the moment. Vesper picked herself up, shaking off her purple wings and hopping over to her trainer. Bending down, Lilith scooped up the little bat pokemon in a hug. Ignis nudged her, rubbing his head on her leg in a show of cheer. The woman lifted her arms, depositing the flying type onto her usual perch, the two large horns above her head.
Now that the fight was over, and the Drilbur lay motionless, the woman was at a loss for what to do. For now, the two Roggenrola remain forgotten. Walking over, Lilith pulled out her X-Gear and booted up the Photo Chip. She took a picture of the fallen pokemon, zooming in the star shaped nose. It was a minor mutation, but possibly one she could sell later on. Now came the question of what to do with the Drilbur. It was clearly a powerful pokemon, and dangerous to boot, if the hole in the ground and skull below it showed. She couldn't rightly leave it for the next passer by.
Almost begrudgingly she pulled a vacant pokeball from her belt. If she caught the Drilbur, taming it would be hard, that much she was sure of. Perhaps she could sell the vicious little pokemon to some researcher interested in the minor mutation? The woman figured she would deal with deciding to keep it or not later on. She slowly bent at the knees, curling upon herself so she was lower to the ground. She gently tapped the empty orb onto the fainted beast, watching as it was sucked in through a flash of red light.
Blinking the bright spots from her eyes, Lilith retrieved the now full pokeball and tucked it back onto her belt, right next to the pokeball containing the egg. She would deposit it later into her PC, once she figured out what exactly to do with it. As she began to rise, a curious sight caught her eye. She titled her head slightly in an unspoken question, earning herself an angry squawk from the Noibat atop her head.
Near her feet, half hidden by dirt and bones, lay a pokeball. Lilith reached out, her face once again being pulled into a grimace as her fingers brushed past bones. How could she say no to a free pokeball? Even if it was hidden beneath a deceased person. As she grabbed the abandoned ball, she gasped in surprise. The pokeball was warm, the even so faint glow of the center button indicating it was occupied.
Immediately her mind began to make the connection. The bones the lay there had been the original owner of the pokeball. The person had died in this hole and his or her pokemon had remained for who knew how long, inside the pokeball. The thought almost brought a tear to the woman's eye. Had the pokemon remained faithfully in a sort of stasis, unaware of the passage of time? Had it waited, not quiet aware of how the days rolled by.
"Hey, guys. I found a pokeball." Lilith said, finally standing up, taking the pokeball with her. She turned to show Ignis, who tilted his own head in response. "What should I do? There's a pokemon in it. Who knows how long it's been here." The woman said, as if she expected a response from the fire type.
Ignis merely shrugged, perking up his ears as he did so, yet giving no idication one way or another of what he thought. "Vesper, what do you think?" Lilith asked, her hands cradling the forgotten capsule. The Noibat chirped, shrugging her own shoulders.
"Then it's settled, I'm opening it." Lilith said, as if her pokemon had given her permission to do so. "Be ready, we aren't sure what's in it."
With that, Lilith pressed the center button and tossed it gently into the air. Her heart skipped a beat in anticipation as a flash of red light blinded her.

The poke ball spun in the air when Lilith threw it up before the latch mechanism gave way and a bright, white light arched from the now empty capsule to the solid ground above the ditch. When Lilith hauled herself out of the hole made by the wild mole, she would come face to face with a large Pokemon. The rock beast sniffed her, not moving or doing anything really. A few uneasy seconds passed before the rock behemoth ambled over to the pit and peered down into it, sniffing and working its nose. Despite its terrible vision, the Rhyhorn managed to figure out that his trainer was in that pit, and he wasn't going to climb out any time soon. Turning to face this new, mysterious person, the Rhyhorn whined a little, just like a sad puppy. Could it be that this tough, ass kicking Pokemon was really just a scared youngster? Surely Lilith could use a Pokemon like this, and it didn't seem like it would put up a fight or attack here. Snuffling around, the Rhyhorn seemed lost and confused, which was probably understandable. --------------------------------------------------------- Congratulations, Drilbur has been captured! Lilith looked away as the tiny capsule exploded in a flash of red light, revealing to her what exactly had been hidden away in the hole for who knows how long. Of course, from her vantage point, Lilith could only really see a large silver head peering down into the hole. Her green eyes locked with the small brown eyes of the Rhyhorn and the woman tensed instinctively. From where she stood, she was already at a disadvantage. If the rock type decided to jump down, she would be in for a hell of a battle. Her pokemon were already weakened and she fared no advantage.
Before her mind began to race with how exactly the battle would ensue, the Rhyhorn turned towards her and whined. The pitiful sound managed to penetrate the cold woman's heart and almost bring a tear to her eye. It was obvious that the pokemon had just realized it's previous owner was dead. Lilith could relate to the pain on the great monster's face. She had lost her father over a year ago and the pain still ran deep.
"Vesper," Lilith said gently, removing the pokemon from her perch atop her head, "Go up there and sit with him. I need to get the Roggenrola and Ignis out of here before I can get up there."
The little bat pokemon chirped her understanding and launched herself from Lilith's hands out of the hole. She landed a few feet from the Rhyhorn who hadn't yet moved aside from shifting his weight from foot to foot. The Noibat gently padded over, noticing how the beast towered over her small purple frame. She sat down near his head, allowing her little feet to hang over the edge and placed her hand on the pokemon's cheek.
Back down in the hole, Lilith turned her attention to the two Roggenrola who had been curiously silent the duration of the time. "Alright big guys," The woman said, bending down and scooping one up, "Time to get out of here."
Which was easier said than done. Despite weighing a little under forty pounds, the blind pokemon struggled. Unable to see what had picked it up, it was simply assuming it was under attack. A low pitched angry humming came as it kicked it's small feet in protest. Lilith did her best to hold on, raising the pokemon over her head and basically tossing it over the edge. The Roggenrola skidded on what could be considered it's face before righting itself. Lilith turned her attention towards the other one who had managed to sink deeper into a crevice.
As she pried the little pokemon out, she silently cursed them. Even though she knew they lacked eyes, they were seriously making saving them hard. Once again struggling, Lilith managed to toss it over the lip of the hole. Almost immediately the two Roggenrola got back together, pounding their little bodies into each other as they turned away from the hole and began to wander off. "Be careful for holes!" Lilith cried, as they quickly vanished from her view, "You stupid pokemon." She mumbled as she realized they had managed to tear the front of her dress and completely dirty her hands.
Realizing she didn't quite have the time to deal with the mess, she turned towards Ignis who had stood out of the way while watching the whole scene. "Your turn." The woman said, hastily scooping up her Houndour and hoisting him over the lip. The fire type whimpered as his feet touched the solid earth above his previous position. It was clear that he was weaker than he let on. Regardless, he padded over towards the Rhyhorn and sat down, leaning his battered body against the cool texture of the rock type.
"Now," Lilith said, grasping at the top of the hole and trying to find a way to shimmy herself up, "It's my turn to get out of this mess." The woman struggled, falling back a few times before finally getting herself free of the hole. Her elbows and knees managed to gain a few new scraps in the effort and her outfit was totally ruined. The woman shook her head in disgust as she made a vain attempt to dust herself off.
Now that she was free however, she turned her attention to the silent Rhyhorn who had only shifted his eyes to follow her movements. Walking over, Lilith knelt before the pokemon, laying her hand on the top of it's head. "I think it would be best to keep moving, big guy." She said, pausing as the look of confusion crept back into it's eyes, "With us, I mean. Would you like that?" She asked softly, knowing deep down she wouldn't exactly give the pokemon a choice in the matter. To leave it here was asking for trouble, she reasoned.
Lilith waited, watching as both of her pokemon turned their heads to look at her then at the Rhyhorn in curiosity. The pokemon's eyes shifted between the three before it before finally pausing at Lilith. The woman titled her head in silent question, her eyes urging the pokemon for an answer. For a brief second she considered the possibility that it would say no. Could she really force it to leave the side of it's trainer?
However, the Rhyhorn made his decision. After a seemingly long pause he nodded his head. "Excellent!" Lilith cried, clapping her hands, "We're currently heading towards New Pallet. We lost a bit of time in that hole." She explained, looking up at the sky and noticing just how far the sun had moved in the sky, "But we should get there before dark if we get going."
Lilith's two pokemon detached themselves from the Rhyhorn's side, and took up their usual positions next to their trainer. The woman started walking and the rock type followed behind. Ignis broke from his defensive position besides Lilith and fell back with the lumbering beast. He flashed a toothy grin, hoping he could portray that everything would be alright.

OOC:// Major apologies for delay with this update, life has been a meanie
BIC:// It was quiet going for Lilith and her team for a while after their massive encounter with Drilbur, which was no doubt welcome by the bedraggled Pokemon and mercenary. Everything seemed right in the world at the moment, with birds happily singing and the sun shining. They were less than a mile away from New Pallet when Ignis would bark and run over to the side of the path they were exploring. There before him was one of the Spiny Leaf Shrubs, sporting the Peppip berries and Spiny Leaved herbs. It would be up to Lilith if she wanted to pick the berries or not, but before she could make that decision, a warning call rang out in the still air.
Normally, a person or Pokemon would wait a few seconds after the call was given for the person or Pokemon to oblige to it, but in this case the caller was impatient and a grayish looking blur zoomed past Lilith and moved over to the next tree on the road.
The call came again, and again there was a blur. All Lilith could really see was some flash of gray, and the Pokemon was moving through the air.

Lilith took the time to enjoy the rather serene walk. Despite her clothing being muddied and ripped and her pokemon all worn from the battle beforehand the woman was able to enjoy the relative calm in the air. With Ignis and Roche following at a lazy pace behind her and Vesper perched atop her head and nodding off the woman was able to temporarily forget the perils of Mi-aro and simply enjoy the moment she was in. On her waist were two occupied pokeballs. One of a rather angry feral and a mystery egg. Her mind shifted from enjoying the moment to actually pondering what she would do with the two. The egg was easy enough, keeping it safe until it hatched wasn't hard. The feral Drilbur however, was going to be a massive challenge.
Before she could formulate any sort of plan on how to deal with the Drilbur, Lilith was alerted by Ignis' sudden movement and barking. Lilith tilted her head to the side, trying to recall the name of the vegetation before her. Flora had never really been her strong suit. She had seen the berry sold at local shops but couldn't quite place a name to it.
Of course, she didn't quite have time to. Before she was even able to exam the shrub closer a shrill warning call and a grey blur zooming by her occupied her attention. Vesper immediately sat up, tensing in anticipation for a battle. Ignis did as well, quickly coming back to Lilith and taking up his trademark defensive stance.
As the grey blur flew by again, the woman squinted her green eyes in an attempt to identify the species. At first, it seemed to streamline to be a Starly. Perhaps a Pidove? That was her guess anyway. As the mystery pokemon did another shrill cry and fly-by, Lilith decided she was going to find out for sure.
"Vesper, use supersonic when it flies by again. Knock that pokemon out of the air!" Lilith cried. Vesper took to the air in an instant, launching herself from her roost. As the pokemon fly by again, the small purple bat let out a shrill cry, hoping it would confuse whatever it's opponent was enough to stop the mad dash in the air.

| Pidove | Lv. 3 | No Mutations Observed |
Lilith's thoughts were on track as the ear splitting supersonic was created from the bat Pokemon, forcing the wild bird to stop flitting around so quickly. Slowing its pace, the bird squawked in pain, landing on a nearby branch in an attempt to block out the harsh sound waves. Unfortunately for Vesper, the supersonic was not concentrated enough to actually confuse the wild bird. However, getting it to finally sit still was a victory in of itself, and now that it was discovered, going ninja again would likely be quite difficult. Vesper's sound waves had another, rather unintended side effect as the newly minted Rhyhorn rammed his head into the ground, covering his face up till his thick neck in an attempt to block out the harsh sound waves. He certainly looked funny, this massive beast with his head tucked into the sand and dirt of the path side. Hopefully, in time the large rock rhino's eardrums will become used to the high pitch of his teammate. Finally, the wild Pidove had recovered from the and glared at the mercenary and her Pokemon team. Spreading his wings, the Pidove seemed to manipulate some of the air and formed it into several sharp, air blades before throwing them at Vesper, using an air cutter. +1 Finder SP for the correct answer
