After making a stop at the market to buy a roll of fabric, along with a rather long list of items she decided to purchase on the spot, Gwen had returned to the inn to have her pokemon healed, as well as to spend some time to make a pouch to carry the egg she had found around in. Right now it was simply resting in a pile of unused fabric while Gwen steadily sewed pieces together into a rough bag shape. Sad to say, Gwen didn't really have much if any experience in sewing. By the time the inn's caretaker had returned with her newly healed pokemon, Gwen had come up with something with loose stitching that the egg didn't quite fit into and threatened to tip over and spill the egg if she attempted to lift it up by the clearly too long shoulder strap. "This might be harder than anticipated." Gwen muttered to herself after thanking the innkeeper for her pokemon. Gwen clicked most of her pokemon back onto her bag, except for Sakura and Espurr's, which she released from their poke balls. "You two have some free time. Be good and don't get under people's feet." She told the two pokemon, before she turned to her fail-bag and began pulling stitches and salvaging what she could from it. The Espurr looked up at Gwen with wide, unblinking eyes, and backed away nervously, not understanding what Gwen had said. Turning to see Sakura, she side stepped away from her too. It wasn't the charmander that she had fought against, but she remembered this Mawile cheering it on it must have been it's friend. Sakura nodded to Gwen, before turning to the nervous Espurr, giving it a friendly smile. <She says we have some free time. We can do what we want around here so long as we don't bother anyone.> said the Mawile, having saw the look of confusion on it's face. Unlike the human and the charmander from before, Espurr could actually understand this Mawile. Free time? Do what they want? Espurr wasn't really sure what she wanted. She was now a captured pokemon and she was unsure of the people and pokemon around her. <I... guess> The little feline murmured as her gaze drifted a bit, landing on the pokemon egg that was presently resting in a seat beside Gwen. Her face lit up a bit. Her friend was safe! Overjoyed, Espurr climbed up onto the chair, causing the egg to shift as the chair rocked back and forth unsteadily. By the time the psychic type had gotten all four of her paws up, the egg had nearly rolled off the chair, only to be stopped as Gwen's hand suddenly came down, catching it before it had the chance to fall. "Be careful." Gwen said firmly, though she smiled gently at the pokemon as well, and just readjusted the egg's blankets so the egg remained firmly in place. Espurr squeaked a bit as her friend almost rolled off, and squeaked again when Gwen caught it and said something to her, that she still didn't quite understand. The human didn't sound exactly happy or unhappy or that matter, but the look was kinda pleasant. Most importantly, Gwen made no move to shoo her away, so Espurr simply settled onto the chair beside the egg and snuggled into it. A bead of sweat had run down Sakura's face as the egg nearly fell over, but thankfully everything turned out alright. The Mawile settled herself on the floor beside the chair, and looked up at Espurr. "Is that egg yours?" She asked curiously. She knew the Espurr had been protecting the egg, had been ready to lay down it's life for it, so it seemed natural. At the same time though, the Espurr seemed a bit on the young side though. Espurr blushed slightly at the question. <No, not mine-mine.> She muttered softly, being slightly embarrassed by the thought. Hers? She was too young to have her own kits. Way too young. Did she even want babies? She supposed technically the egg could be considered her 'baby' in the adopted sense since she had taken care of it. She had just considered it a friend though. A highly dependent and very fragile friend. <Oh, uhm... Well.> Sakura said sheepishly as she grasped for somewhere to take this conversation. <You were pretty brave back there. You fought very hard for it and it wasn't even yours.> She said, beaming with pride in the little Espurr. <Any idea what's inside?> Sakura asked. Espurr looked at the egg, running a paw over it's porous surface. <I.... don't know> Espurr murmured as her ears twitched with curiosity. <I found it at the beach, alone. It was alone, I was alone... So I made it my friend.> She explained, her gaze becoming more distant by the sad thoughts running through her mind. Her only friend, and she didn't even know what it was! So she didn't know. That was disappointing, because she was quite curious about it too. If Espurr didn't know what it was, then it was anyone's guess. It could have been any of the pokemon known to live around town, or perhaps it had been washed up from the ocean. Though... an egg would have probably drowned in the ocean, unless it was from an ocean pokemon. Maybe it was a baby Kyogre? The thought kind of amused the mawile and she smiled a bit as she suppressed the urge to laugh. That urge quickly faded as the Espurr went on, and Sakura frowned. That... was kinda sad. What a poor little kitten! <Well, now both of you won't be lonely anymore. We'll be your friends!> Sakura said cheerfully. The Espurr glanced down at the Mawile, being fairly uncertain. She supposed that would be nice, if they could be friends. The Mawile seemed nice at least. The thought of being around that charmander still frightened her though, and she still didn't really trust them. Whatever the case though, they had her so there wasn't a lot of choice in this situation for her. Hours passed as Gwen continued making attempts at making this egg pouch. Finally, she had come up with something that at least was capable of holding the egg without falling over, and it sat at a comfortable spot on her waist. She had stitched two layers of fabric together for lining, and also stuffed some of the salvageable scrap on the inside for further insulation. It didn't look too pretty, but at least it would hopefully be able to keep the egg warm at least. Looking at the time, her eyelids shot up. "To think I wanted to be at the Emissary by noon..." She sighed. If she hadn't found that egg, she probably would have, but making sure the egg stayed warm had taken priority. She then turned to her two pokemon. "Time to go, you both did well." Gwen said, making a particular note to sound as pleasant as she could muster to the feral Espurr. She then returned both pokemon to their poke balls, and once she had gathered up all her things, she then headed out, on her way to the Emissary. ------------------- - Gwen made a pouch for her egg! +...
