Adventurous: Nick is very adventurous. He never see the dangerous in things, hence why he likes adventuring. The stories that can come from a single day of adventuring through a dangerous street makes him shake from excitement.
Kindness: Nick is kind towards everyone. This goes in combination with being respective. Kindness here is in a way of happiness. He tries to emit his happiness and brightness over, towards others, this could be seen and heard from his body posture and voice.
Respective/Polite: Nick is respective to everyone, even if it is the evilest person in the entire world. He will treat that person with the greatest amount of respect. He thinks everyone should have an equal amount of respect no matter what background he/she might have.
Hard to anger: Nick has this bright positive kind of attitude. He never really gets angry. It is because he never sees anything to get the anger about. If someone beats him up, he simply saw it as a loss and hoped that the other would feel better by it though he never had been brought to the limit, where he could go berserk.
Gullible: Nick is still so young and cares free in his mind. Which makes it pretty easy for him to be manipulated. He is not able to see when certain people try to take the better of him, only for their own gains. Whenever he gets manipulated it only goes so far. the backstory
Nick was born 8 years after the great Arceus gave a portal to new vast lands, where the human race could learn from their mistakes and help themselves to get back for the mistakes they had made. His parents were forced to leave the rest of the family behind as they were nowhere to be found, but that story lies within the past and now is only the future.
A master trainer isn't made. He will be born, but needs certain materials and events to grow as a person to show off those skills. Nick was born in a place called New-Pallet at the big windmill. He was a healthy young boy. His parents were both hard-working and had enough money to look after their son. His father was a researcher and a survivalist, while his mother worked at a clothing store.
Unlike other children, who would have been only with their parents, he found at two months old a little play companion crawling around the garden on a beautiful day. His play companion, a cute little bug domestic Pokemon called Caterpie, that wandered around from his egg around the garden. It was noticed quickly that both Nick and Caterpie wouldn't hurt a fly against each other and they quickly became friends. The domestic mother Pokemon Butterfree was one of the other side and stayed safely near the humans. She allowed her child Caterpie to play with the human child since they seem to have so much fun.
The two were growing up as a lovely couple of friends at the age of 5. The little Nick saw from the garden, some trainer fighting a Pokemon in the open plain grass. He found it so exciting, that he wanted to try and imitated the trainer with his Pokemon. "Woah!" He looked at Caterpie. "Shall we try that as well?!" Caterpie was extremely kind and wanted to give it a try. Nick was still young in mind while Pokemon mentally aged quicker than humans. They tried and it was already a moment where his parents were thinking that he was bound to become a mercenary, but not what branch he would walk in.
Two years later on Caterpie evolved in a Metapod and lied every sunny day outside in the garden, but when it was raining Nick pulled him in a tent that he would ask to be set up by his parents to stay there with. When it finally evolved, he learned the way of life. Butterfree stayed with him for only a short period of time before suddenly leaving. The funny thing was, he remembered the look of the Butterfree's eyes and would never forget about his friend. He cried for quite a long time and looked for many days after each other out of the window if Butterfree wanted to come back, but it wasn't seen.
A few years later Nick was showing a certain formal behavior, he was growing in quite the young man, but sometimes an appearance could be quite deceiving. The clothes were made by his own mother, who made suits for a company within Port City. He was a guy that went into many fights. He got himself in trouble time and time again. When he heard people in general speaking about foul acts, he would get between such acts, even if he did not have any connections to the people. He found it disgusting, that people were being so harsh against each other, while the god Arceus gave them a new change as told in the stories. He did the same opening action to every foul act, he would have punched the person in the face and asked the same damn thing every time. "How dare you talk like that! Do you want to be treated that way?" Many times it did not work, how he had wanted and got beaten up numerous times. He never learned how to back down or give up.
It was one week before the ambassador had even known about him. It was storming within New-Pallet and a few of immature unemployed scumbags, who were a few years older than him. They had a group of feral Pokemon locked in thick chains. They were trying to tame the feral Pokemon through torturing them. They tried to use wooden planks, but such mere objects were destroyed in half by a mere bite. These Pokemon were honestly creepy; An Eevee, Larvitar, Pidgey and as last a Poochyena. Nick found this absolutely a monstrosity and this couldn't be allowed. Nick grabbed a wooden plank and said. "Hello", placing his hand on the shoulder and going into a fight against Scum. He was losing pretty quickly and did not stand a chance. He exchanged a few punches, but got much back in return.
The Ambassador knew about these scumbags. They were found at more than one location and had already placed an experienced mercenary on tracking them down and arresting them on the spot! The ambassador couldn't have predicted that some civilian was foolish enough to get between scum and feral Pokemon it was a dead-wish. The hired mercenary had a single task, capture the scumbags and either defeat the feral Pokemon and bring them back to a place where they can live on or catch them.
Nick was held by one of the scumbags with his face close to the feral Pokemon. It was the first time. Nick was nearly peeing his pants. He was scared, but from a distance the mercenary came in view and next to him were two Pokemon. "Alakazam, Teleport rescue hostage." The psychic Pokemon vanished and reappeared in front of Nick touching him with a finger to reappear next to the mercenary. A whole fight came after that. The mercenary had two fantastic Pokemon. The man had an Alakazam and a Pokemon called Machamp. Nick was barely standing of such an excitement or was something else bothering him at the moment. The man skillfully dealt with all the feral Pokemon and captured the criminals. "Great job team." The man wanted to show a massive thumbs up towards Nick, but, Nick had a bit too much adrenaline through his body and blacked out. "Hey kid, what's the matter?"
Nick laid there on the ground and the man laughed softly. He heard the criminals speaking about Nick having hindered their plans. This was a breakthrough for him to help a kid becoming a real Hero instead of a wanna-be. "Hello Ambassador, It is me, yes. We have a little problem. Someone else had already captured the criminals. Who? Well it's a kid...Yes, he seems to be around eighteen years old." He spoke through the communicator and said. "I understand I will bring hm to the nearby hospital." And so the mercenary gave the mission completion credits to Nick instead of himself. There weren't many children with a sense of justice.
When Nick woke up in the hospital, two letters were placed next to his bed with his father and mother by his side. After all the hugging and kissing and how worried they were, he read both letters. The first letter was written by the mercenary. He explained about the criminal situation and wanted Nick to take the credits for it. The second letter was from the ambassador. It was an appointment to become a mercenary and a Pokemon trainer.
