~ SERAPHINA ~ Sera and Igglybuff realized the affect her attack was-- or rather wasn't-- having, and Igglybuff stopped to consider the situation for a moment.
Meanwhile, Chikorita seemed frustrated about its attack and a little bit angry about the sand in its face, but was calmed a little when Sera commented, "Ah, good job!" The glancing blow not so much, but she was legitimately pleased by Chikorita's quick action. "Keep it up." Nodding, Chikorita did just that, leashing another Razor Leaf at the same Diglett.
Suddenly, a thought hit Sera. "Igglybuff, match it!" Before she could explain that order, however, Dugtrio resurfa-holy shit this thing was massive. She was relatively certain that any Dugtrio she'd ever read about was not this big, holy shit the wilderness really was terrifying. Also her whole idea of shifting to research once she'd built up some power through mercernary work gained several merit points, because all of the texts that had been brought from or written with knowledge of the old world were basically fucking useless.
So Dugtrio was staring her down, and Sera-.. Sera shook off the startled feeling and instead decided to play his game. Setting her face in a firm scowl, she entered a staring contest with the large Pokemon.
Meanwhile, Igglybuff wondered what Sera had meant. ..Oh! Could.. yes! Yes she could do that!
With just a little extra melodic lull to enhance the existing tune, she actually joined the cadence. "Iggly igg, iggly igg. Ly-uff ly-uff ly-uff~ Iggly igg, iggly igg. Ly-uff ly-uff ly-uff."

Chikorita's leaf cut past Diglett's forehead. Too bad, if it hadn't have been for that Sand Attack she probably would have knocked it out right there. That being said, two grass-type nicks left the tiny mole extremely exhausted. Diglett sunk back underground, this time reappearing directly under Chikorita, the top of its head a bit squished by her stomach. Four rows of dirt trailed diagonally towards her feet. This time, when the whips popped up, they wrapped around the Pokemon's legs. What in Mi-aro's name were those things anyway??
Diglett 2 shrieked in pleasure at Igglybuff's response to his... response to Iggly's, alright nevermind. The four little roots sprouted up to each corner of Diglett and mirrored the number. There was not a single more adorable thing that had ever happened in the entire galaxy than this. The whips were still a tad bit odd, probably didn't help that they were sparkling now-- wait, what? Diglett number two's roots were sparkling. Like glitter. Yes, this was really happening.
Back to Sera who was staring down the massive Dugtrio. The center one cocked its head, eerily the same way that a bird would. "Trio," it stated softly. The two beside it then returned underground again. This was an annoying trait the species had come to love. Before Sera really knew what was happening, the other two attatchments of the Dugtrio had pulled her into the soft dirt, so far that she was now eye level with the huge mole. The single unit of the pokemon inched forward until there were onl centimeters between their faces. Its brow crunched in agitation and it gave a single huff into Sera's face. ((Igglybuff gets an extra +1 | I'm thinking Culture +1 because singing plan was a cultured idea so bam~))

~ SERAPHINA ~ Sera was too pre-occupied to command right this moment, so Chikorita was rather spazzing. Seriously what-.. She shuddered and struggled a bit, then whimpered and prayed for the best as she carefully flicked her head to the side in hopes of boomarang-ing another Razor Leaf to her attacker.. preferably without marring herself too much in the process.
Igglybuff was very torn. On the one had this was not at all what her Sing was supposed to do and she liked doing her job and why was this not workiinngg. ..On the other hand it was.. ahaha.. really nice to have an audience who was captively watching and enjoying her performance whoops-- what were.. why-.. She wasn't going to ask. Set on her performance, she continued, though she attempted to get a little louder and add a touch of harmonization to vary the tune, still keeping with the pseudo-mimic of the lyrics.
Over in her corner, Sera squeaked and flinched in an instantaneous reaction as she dropped, but within a second of stabilizing she managed to suppress it and resume her former expression. It wasn't ideal, but she managed not to outright scream, and she'd take the cut-off squeak by comparison. A small part of her felt very paranoid about having blinked during the flinch, but the rest of her said that a staredown was not the same as a human game staring contest and that not-blinking just enhanced the effect rather than being the primary objective. Yes, what was important was that she held her ground in general. Her own scowl tightened and her teeth bared slightly as she gave a strong huff back. It wasn't quite mocking, but she tried to make it quite clear that she was unimpressed by its/their little tricks.

At Sera's reaction, the Dugtrio pushed back for a moment, then returned to her face and began to emit a low growl. Suddenly, its eyes dilated - the left one twitched - and the Pokemon began to waver dizzily before falling right into Sera's bust.
If there was anything that could be said about the Chikorita, it was that she was a determined and passionate creature. However, her aim was a serious flaw that should probably be given more attention. Well, unless it keeps pulling off flukes like this. Right in the back of the fallen Dugtrio's head, was Chikorita's leaf. That's right, it hit, and it hit dead on. Sera could feel her legs being released as the other units of the Pokemon dug back to their center piece. The two smaller heads of the Dugtrio pulled the larger one under and retreated.
Diglett 1 found this event infuriating and began to bounce its little head, pounding Chikorita hard in the stomach. With a creepy sort of squeak, the vines wrapped tighter around the dinosaur's legs and began to pulsate with an odd sort of glow. The other Diglett was so entranced by Igglybuff that it didn't even notice its leader's fall. Either way, that was one big one down, one little one occupied, and only one left to defeat.
Dugtrio fled Chikorita gained 2 EXP for accidentally knocking out 1 head of the Dugtrio.
Diglett 1 is pounding Chikorita with its head. Diglett 2 is entranced.

~ SERAPHINA ~ When Dugtrio started behaving oddly, Sera twitched slightly in confusion, but held her gaze. When it fell against her--.. Well her face certainly shifted to a more discomforted and disconcerted expression, but aside from a brief jolt the rest of her body held its ground. After all, it wasn't like it was its face in her chest at least.. right? More like uh.. forehead, sort of? Yeah this wasn't much better was it.
She didn't have to worry about it long, though, as-- shit it was gone again. Sera was still a little torn on whether she liked being not-outnumbered-and-outgunned or whether she wanted the chance to catch the strong Pokemon. Either way, though, she supposed there was some benefit, so it was a win-win.
Soon the pained, girating sound of Chikorita being beaten and shaken caught the full attention of both Sera and Igglybuff. Fortunately Sera did think to check Igglybuff, and upon seeing the dancing Diglett barked, "Continue!" Igglybuff by this point had missed about half a beat, but quickly jumped back in and resynchronized.
Now for Chikorita, who frankly didn't have a clue what to do. 'This is bad,' Sera thought. Growl would work, but would at best serve to delay the inevitable. If Chikorita couldn't break free of this grapple she didn't seem to have any way to hit it, but how could-
Sera suddenly felt really stupid.
It wasn't like the heaviest Pokemon left in the room weighed less than 20 pounds or anything. She walked over to Chikorita, bent down to wrap her arms around her ribs, and just.. sort of.. pulled. If she could get a clear shot, she intended to try to kick the Diglett, too.

Diglett 2 didn't seem to notice Sera's movement towards its partner, nor the Igglybuff's mistake. However, the roots to either side of the mole stopped dancing abruptly receded back into the ground.
A whine of utter distress and confusion reverberated from Diglett 1 as Sera removed the Chikorita from its range, quite easily at that. When the woman kicked the world's smallest Pokemon, it flew against the fall, completely out for the count. At that moment, the roots that had originally seemed to be connected to Diglett 2, started whipping at Sera again; this time whips left lash marks and almost began drawing blood.
Though, even with that pain from the other set of roots, it would've been pretty hard to overlook what was dangling under Chikorita. The roots were still wrapped around its green legs, but there was something attached to them. A tiny, fuzzy, round, and pink creature stared up at the human. Its wide eyes took up the majority of its face, along with a tiny proboscis (a drill-like insect mouth). Under its dirty and fluffy body was a sort of round, thin, metal razor that was just starting to stop spinning. To its side were two tiny arms that were flapping oddly as the creature dangled uncomfortably in the air.
A closer look at the "roots" showed that they were actually antennae, and there were only two that split into two more at the end. They were a brownish-grey, thin, and still looked quite similar to roots. The odd creature seemed to let off a glow, it was kind of like glitter, but it was also luminescent. Sera also observed that the chamber lit up quite a bit when the creature became visible. Well, that answered a few questions, but eh.. What was this thing?
It to have been a Pokemon, it shared the looks of an adorable dust mite and perhaps its species were locked in a Symbiosis with the Diglett? They two were very close obviously, so there was something up there.
Either way, Sera seemed to have discovered a new Pokemon.

~ SERAPHINA ~ Sera let out a little pained cry, but it was quickly replaced with gawking before frantically maneuvering Chikorita awkwardly about-- damn her getting by far the largest classic-starter Pokemon-- until she could grasp the antenna with her own hand and drop Chikorita, who landed with a soft thud. (Fortunately she didn't seem to mind, grateful to be free of the thing's grasp.)
If there was one upside to being a bit of an airhead, it was that Sera had uncanny focus and ability to drown out everything else. Often it was focusing exclusively on how she might perfect a new sewing technique or what she might like for dinner tonight to the point of missing everything else going on around her. In this case, however, she largely forgot about the pain in her legs. She felt it, and she'd reeaally be feeling it later, but for the moment she just sort of.. got on a one-track mind.
Once she had hold of the little creature she used the other hand to take a photo of it with her X-Gear. At that moment she realized--DID THAT DIGLETT GO FLYING? Keeping hold of the struggling little Pixibug-- if this thing wasn't already discovered by anyone else, she assumed she'd get to name it, and that was totally going to be her name. Actually she'd probably think of something better but that was a good placeholder, she thought. Keeping hold of it, she rushed over to the Diglett to take a picture of it above ground.
Igglybuff had noticed everything going on, but kept up her performance. Barely. It took every ounce of her willpower to not go get a closer look, but she knew her place was here and by Arceus she would stay here until that changed.

Well this was unfortunate, the Diglett's bottom half was encased in a pyramid-shaped rock formation. Or, was that its lower half? It did look like it could have been a drill, but there still had to be something under there. As Sera went for a picture of the flipped Diglett, its partner let out a distressed cry and zoomed its way across the chamber. The antennae of the still buried.. Pixibug... were still slapping at Sera's legs. Tears formed around Diglett 2's eyes as it began to scratch at the trainer with its rough lips.
The mole's attack wasn't nearly as effective as the mite's. But the Diglett was by far the weakest in the room, so this was to be expected. Actually, the Diglett's passionate attack for its family was both adorable and moving. After a few seconds of it, the Pokemon quit. Apparently Igglybuff's move worked out in the end. Exhausted from the dancing and sudden swell of emotions, the Diglett flopped back and fell asleep.
Diglett 2 fell asleep Pixibug 2 is still whipping at Sera

~ SERAPHINA ~ Igglybuff let out a long sigh of relief as Diglett finally fell asleep, never having been more content to stop singing. "Little help here?" Sera prompted, motioning to the roo-- er, antennae?-- lashing at her legs, which had by now started to bleed a bit. The skin actually breaking had been quite effective in bringing Sera's attention back to the attack, but she did her best to grit and bear it and remain a stable target.
Igglybuff and Chikorita both nodded and moved in cautiously, each attempting to grab an antenna, trying not to get hit too often in the process.
Meanwhile, Sera dug through her bag and found two Pokeballs, tossing one down at each Diglett.

Tiny squeaks filled with trepidation echoed throughout the room as the tunnel-dwelling fuzzball was plucked from the ground. Its free antennae slapped at the faces of its opponents, but without the momentum and range, they were considerably less effective. From its place in Sera's hand, the other creature began to cry. Together the creatures' whines made a sort of harmony which sounded much happier than how they were obviously feeling. The sound might have actually been painful had their tiny little voices not been cracking.
Once the pokeballs absorbed the two Diglett, they bounced on the tunnel's floor and shook once. The pink Pokemon held in the team's possession began to screech. Okay, now it hurt. The balls shook again. Their voices were now echoing an alarming cry. Perhaps it had something to do with their partners being encased in an unknown device, but it sounded like more than that. Finally, the third shake and ding cam from both capsules. The cries did not stop with that though. In fact, they grew even louder.
There had to be something else up. Whatever it was, it did not sound good. Throughout the room were numerous tunnels, five to be exact. Behind her was the tunnel she had entered from, there was another, smaller tunnel that was above that one. To the north were two more. On the left, the tunnel looked somewhat damp and Sera could see the slight drip of water fall from its top. The one on the right was decorated similarly to the one in the previous chamber. Two sticks covered in a deep red moss. A faint, outside light shed from the South, where an exit tunnel made its way to the surface. There might be a problem with that though.
Closer to the northern tunnels, hanging at the ceiling, were roots from a tree. There were really no trees on the Winding Path. She hadn't traveled far enough to be in a different location, so where exactly did this one come from?
The two Diglett were caught! 35 TP required to tame - remove 2 pokeballs The Pixibug used Disarming Voice (in warning)
