Nix stood at the edge of the route with her partner pokemon on her shoulder and her dagger in hand, the route before her was a rocky one and she took that to assume there would be pokemon here who were rock and ground types. Her dagger wouldnt be good against them but if there was anything else she would be able to take them on, her fennekin was sitting with his tail flicking out from side to side and watching the ground most carefully. Nix started walking along the rocks and watched most carefully, part of her was very tempted to try and go in to the mines and have a poke around in there but she knew her fennekin would be totaly beaten down if she tried it and she didnt want to tempt fate. There were no pokemon here she really wanted but she could always catch them here and then find a way to sell them back in one of the settlements, get more people with pokemon out there and making their world bigger and what not. A strange, pungent smell infiltrated the air around the partners. Rotten? Sour? No, not quite.. It wasn't a terribly bad smell, just a bit off-putting. Perhaps more along the lines of medicine? Either way, it wasn't something one would want to stay in for too long. Then, there was a hiss from up ahead. There, that was the origin of the smell! A purple mammalian creature sat ready on a large boulder. This must have been its territory, and the smell its mark. If Nix were to go around it she would likely not have to fight it as it didn't seem overly-aggressive, but what would be the fun in that?

Kitzu noted the smell before his trainer, sneezing in a little sound that came out like a snuff as it caught his nose. He lifted a paws and tried to bat at his muzzle to make the smell fade, something that would have normally worked but it was coming from a pokemon so there was no such luck for the canine. By the time nix had noticed the smell and sneezed herself, the fennekin was barking up at the pokemon sitting on the rock before them. Nix narrowed her eyes and looked at the pokemon, wondering if she should pass the pokemon and move on but she wasnt sure. She knew pokemon had a habit of attacking any way and she wanted to be open and trusting, but she just wasnt the sort. " Lets end this before it starts. Ember and tail whip!"" she called out, waving a hand away from her partner in hope of the pokemon before them looking away and being hit by her partners attacks. Beady eyes squinted at the arrival of the human and Pokemon. What were those things. This Stunky had seen humans before, but never this close. But more importantly, what was that cute fluffy thing? Wait, what was it doing? The yellow fox tossed his tail into the skunk's face, then burst a blitz of embers to its feet. Something of a mix between a 'mew' and a 'yelp' sound floundered from the Pokemon as it was caught off guard by the attacks. Stunky tumbled off the rock in its surprise, groaning at the unexpected pain to its paws. Nix heard a huff, then a growl. Well, the seemingly curious and docile creature had been sufficiently angered and was ready to fight its predators. Scrambling back to the tip of the rock, the mammal swung its clawed paw at the Fennekin's snout. <"You wanna play foofy? Let's do it!">

Nix did given a little grin as it seemed her battle had begun with two move for her pokemon while the other was not ready for them, she didnt want to seem not to trust it but she didnt exactly want to wander on past and see if come for them afterwards. It seemed to get the idea now and dived forwards with its own attack, kitzu gritting his teeth at the pain before he turned and flicked out his tail once more and then move to hit the pokemon with ember again. Hopefully the duo would be able to get it burned and then it would start losing health even quicker, though nix was not sure if she wanted to catch his pokemon and keep it, it was a type she disliked and she didnt exactly have the nose to keep it so she had an idea of catching it and then bringing it back to the towns and finding someone else who would like it and care for it rather than leave it here in the wilds. Although unusually trusting for a Feral, Stunky did share the general survival wit or most Feral Pokemon. The same move combination twice in a row? The skunk was almost offended. As Kitzu went in with its tail, Stunky took the opportunity to run towards the brain, Nix. It used the little fox as sort of a ramp down from the boulder. With a hiss it pounced from the Fennekin's back to rush toward the trainer.
Kitzu reacted quickly with its ember, but the Feral expected it, after all - fool me once. Stunky eyed Kitzu as the flames shot towards it backside, an unfortunate target really. Tail lifted, the skunk let out a whizzing smog of gas. As the embers made impact with the gas, the cloud ignited into a small burst, expanding the distance between the Pokemon and thereby shortening the distance between Stunky and Nix. On the bright side, it wasn't so much painful as it was just a strong knockback.
Stunky rushed at Nix, aiming for her bag, a treasure many of the Pokemon's competitors have claimed is filled with snacks and shinies galore. Careful Nix, this one's clever.

Nix could see that her normal plan of keep wearing down was not going to work here, the pokemon completely jumped over her own and came right for her. Its own move working with her partners to send a blast of something horrid towards her, though thankfully it seemed to work against the other pokemon. It was indeed a strong knock back and nix was sent tumbling backwards over the rocks and fell, her arms hitting the ground hard but she was now fallen on to the ground on her back and quite out of the diving range of the pokemon. Kitzu turned and once more sent a wave of embers, though used his tail whip first to slam himself in to the ground and shot upwards in to the air so that his trail of embers would shot up in a wave and catch the other pokemon as it dived for a human and her pack who had been knocked to the ground already.& Meanwhile, laying on the flood with a fresh cut on her arm and a set of spinning eyes, nix was dazed. Her dagger flicked up to defend herself as her mind remembered why she was on the floor but it seemed the plan to get at her had back fired. She smiled at this but groaned softly too, her arm was really beginning to sting now. It seemed she had fallen on to a rock and cut her elbow open a little, not a huge gash but they all hurt the same really. ((Sometimes it's a bit difficult to understand what you're writing, Nix. If you could just proofread a bit before posting I'd really appreciate it ^^. Also, I'm gonna adapt to you a little bit by adding the health % because I enjoy consistency!)) Stunky slid to a halt with growing wide eyes as it saw the wave of flames. Were those coming from the sky or... the floof ball! The Fennekin had managed to get some air with its tail, which proved to be a useful technique. A hiss slid from the Feral's tongue as the embers stung its body, a few landed on the Pokemon's hind leg. Although this didn't cause a burn, it was going to make running at full speed a very difficult exercise for Stunky. Eyes flicked between the girl's bag and her Pokemon. If Stunky wanted that bag of treasures, it would first have to remove the fluff-ball. The human had some sort of long claw, but she wouldn't be able to get near Stunky's gas without inhaling some pretty toxic stuff. So there was the plan. Take out Foofy, get the bag. Right. This time, Stunky would wait for its opponent. A very dim glow of energy outlined the Feral's paws as it waited for the Fennekin to attack again. It licked its chops before growling to its other-worldly cousin,

Nix leaned up using her good arm and winced in slight pain, her eyes trying to move to the battle at hand but kept being drawn to the cut on her arm. She didnt want to ignore the battle of course but it seemed that the other pokemon was now using a move on itself so there was nothing for her fennekin to dodge, the little fire type watching closely to see if his ember had burned the poison type as he had been hoping. It seemed not as the other pokemon didnt flinch or make any other sign it was in pain and so he growled to himself, he had so wanted that to work! He watched carefully and after a few second of nothing happening, grew bored. That was one of the side effects of young children, they tend to lose interest in stalemates. He jumped forwards, springing to the right before he dropped down and tried to twist to the left and send a tail whip towards the other pokemon, it was already weaker than it should be from his first tail whip which meant his attacks were stronger against it for now but he also didnt know if it had any strong moves to use against him. He flicked out his back paws and turned as he landed on the ground, a little of the left of the other pokemon, before he opened his mouth once more and sent a wave of burning heat towards the pokemon legs in the hope of slowing it yet more! With an oddly graceful swoop, Stunky managed to sweep under the mammal's tail, thereby dodging the first move. The Pokemon then went in for a strike with its claws as the fox released its flame. Once again, the two managed perfect sync and landed their moves at precisely the same time. Fortunately for the trainer's team, the embers finally burned the Feral to a degree that would make the rest of the battle much more difficult. However, Stunky's previous Focus Energy helped it land a hit right in Kitzu's stomach, which caused critical damage. Either way, this battle should be over soon enough.
