| After defeating her first round of swarming Anorith, Gwen had went straight to the Inn to have her pokemon treated by the local nurse. The stop had been mostly uneventful, until her Anorith had been seen to anyway. It wasn't too bad at first since it was fainted and unable to move. Second it was conscious and able to get around though, there was a brief moment of chaos when the Anorith had bolted off the table and started spraying it's water gun attack at everything in sight.
Fortunately though, Gwen had managed to get it back in it's poke ball without too much more trouble. She probably would wait until after this whole swarm mess was sorted out before she made any true effort to work with the feral bug. For now she would just have to go out and find some more Anorith to bring down, though before that she had a stop to make at the Emissary.
Gwen walked up the elaborately decorated walkway. It was a rather nice abode, though Gwen inwardly wondered if the funds used to construct this place wouldn't have been better spent expanding the town instead. She didn't linger on the thought though as she walked through the doors and headed toward the front desk where the attendant was waiting. "Hello, my name is Gwendolyn. I'm among the trainers responding to the alert that was sent out, and I've captured three Anorith and as I understand it, payment and poke ball replacements would be offered for each captured Anorith?" Gwen greeted, going immediately to the point.
She then reached into her bag and pulled out the poke balls containing the extra two Anorith and placed them on the desk. "These two I have no wish to keep. Would the Emissary like to take them? Other wise I believe I'll just be releasing them back at the beach."

Before the attendant could answer, a door to the left swung open. A slightly disheveled woman poked her head out to hear what was being said. "Did you say you caught some of the Anorith?" The heavyset woman wore a black pencil skirt with a poofy white blouse and bold red heels. Her pitch black hair was tied into a loose bun and her thinly framed glasses were just the slightest bit crooked. She was normally put together very well, but this incident was driving the poor ambassador mad.
Anita gave a strong gesture for Gwen to enter her office. As the woman did so, the ambassador, closed the door and let out a deep sigh of relief. "Finally some trainer has taken some initiative to fix this mess." She ran her hands over her head and quickly retied her hair into a much tighter bun while she traveled to her desk. "So you said you caught three?" she inquired as she pulled out a piece of Kalosian gold ($10) and another shiny coin made mostly of iron, the Mi-arian currency that equaled $5. She also grabbed three white pokeballs, premier balls? They were still making those?
A gracious smile stretched across Anita's face as she handed these rewards to Gwen. "As for the Anorith that you've already caught," she paused for a moment to ponder, "the emissary can take them, but you could always sell them yourself and make some extra money. You are a mercenary after all - " Anita stopped herself, "I'm sorry, I didn't even get you name and profession," she shook her head, "nor did I introduce myself." With a deep breath of calm she restarted and extended her hand.
"Hello, my name is Anita Nguyen, the ambassador. And what do I have the pleasure of calling you ma'am?"
Gwen is rewarded with $15 and 3 premier balls!

| Gwen looked up as a set of doors flew open before the attendant could respond. Gwen blinked, but nodded when asked if she had caught some Anorith. "That would be correct." She said with a bit of a sympathetic smile to the woman. Clearly this incident was no simple matter, and she didn't pity those in charge of organizing the emergency response. Of course, Gwen knew full well it wasn't simple. She had only taken on three of the swarming anorith and both her pokemon had only just managed to defeat them while Gwen herself had a bandaged ankle and a split boot to show for it all.
When the woman beckoned her into the office she had come out of, Gwen immediately followed, taking the Anorith's poke balls with her. "So no one else has brought any more in?" Gwen asked, with a slight tone of surprise. She would have thought more trainers would have been eager to help out around town, especially with the free poke balls and reward money up for grabs. Being a trainer wasn't exactly free. "Yes, three Anorith." She confirmed, placing two of the anorith's poke balls on the desk while indicating the third attached to her shoulder bag. "They did put up a fierce fight, but it seems Professor Oak doesn't mess around when it comes to offering new trainers good pokemon." She added while accepting both the money as well as the premier balls. Pure white? She thought, giving them a curious glance before depositing them into her bag. What ever color they were, was fine so long as they worked.
Gwen was feeling more forgiving at the moment, so when the woman - albeit correctly - assumed she was a mercenary, only to stop and correct herself, Gwen just smiled a bit and shook the offered hand. "My name is Gwendolyn Steele, and you are correct, I am a mercenary. It's a pleasure to meet you." It wasn't really that big of a deal to assume anyway, and obviously the woman was under a fair amount of stress. There wasn't really much she could do to beat the annoyance of having a full sized Onix released in the too small room you were occupying that Gwen already had to endure today.
As for the Anorith, that was true. She could turn around and sell the pokemon. Especially if she tamed them beforehand, they'd probably fetch a fair amount. "I suppose you are right about selling the Anorith." She said, picking the poke balls back up off the desk. Taming pokemon was how she intended to make a living after all, and even though they probably wouldn't be worth much with the bugs swarming everywhere, once tamed they would likely fetch a fair amount. "I suppose I'll hold onto them then." She said, attaching the poké balls to her shoulder bag along with the rest. If she caught any more though, she probably would just offer them to the Emissary, otherwise she'd likely be swimming in Anorith. -----

"Well it's lovely to meet you Ms. Gwendolyn." She snapped her fingers as she remembered another thing to give the trainer. Anita fished around in a drawer and returned with 5 Poiup Berries. "Now, assuming you have a Berry Sack, you can also have these, if not, just come back later once you've bought one." Her eyes trailed to Gwen's wrist, "and let me give you my number while I'm at it."
After all of that was taken care of, the ambassador scrunched up her lips, "To answer your previous question, you are the first trainer to bring any of the bugs in. I'd do it myself, but I need to know what the shape of our current Mercenaries is," she straightened her glasses and shook her head. "and right now it's not looking all too good. Not to mention that crazed Armaldo is still out there!" A faint chuckle that expressed her 'really guys?' mood escaped her before she looked back at Gwen. "Tell ya what, if you can conquer another batch or two of these beasts, I'll give you a personal quest from me. You'll make some serious cash and even a few connections. How does that sound?" She then gestured to Gwen's X-gear. "And feel free to give me a call if you need my help with anything: catching, taming, or even selling the Anorith," an accomplished smile brightened her countenance, "most people don't know this, but I was the first classified Mercenary and Survivor, so you might find my help invaluable."
Anita nodded to Gwen, she gave a fierce and motivating smile in her direction, "I don't want to keep you any longer than you wanted to stay, so why don't you go get some rest and take another swing at those unlucky creatures?"
Gwen received Anita Nguyen's number! (work phone)

| Gwen blinked, and if she was a more expressive person she might have facepalmed herself. She knew there were berries in the reward, but she had forgotten that she would need a berry sack to hold them in. "I'm afraid I haven't acquired one of those yet, so thank you for holding on to them." Gwen confessed, making a mental note to stop at the market before her next visit. She would have liked to save up more of her money before she started spending, but she couldn't impose on the Ambassador's kindness either. Gwen was more considerate than that.
As the ambassador went on to answer her question regarding no other trainers handing in Anorith, Gwen nodded. "Well, I think I did get a bit of a head start. Other trainers might still come with Anorith to bring in." Gwen suggested optimistically. After all, she had fresh, healthy pokemon when the call went out. Other trainers may have not had the same convenience as her. It was nicer to think, than wonder if the trainers were just battling the bugs and just leaving the fainted pokemon where they lay. The alert hadn't necessarily said what to do with the captured or knocked out Anorith, but surely it was obvious?
Regardless, Gwen didn't point out that little possibility, deeming it out of line to criticize the ambassador's lack of detail, and feeling that she should have more faith in her fellow trainers' intelligence. Instead, she continued to listen as Anita gave her a very interesting proposition. Bring in two more batches of Anorith, and be rewarded with an even greater quest? "That sounds delightful, Ms. Nguyen. How could I say no?" She said, smiling a bit more than she usually allowed herself.
Gwen couldn't help but respect this woman. Maybe she wasn't that humble, but it wasn't without due course. She was the town's Ambassador for a reason. For not the first time today, she wondered why exactly she hadn't go here in the first place to receive her first pokemon. Because the pokemon the professor handed out were supposedly rare? As petty a reason as that might have been, perhaps. On the other hand though, she wasn't sure she would have been happier with whatever Anita might have chosen for her. Despite the Professor's lack of professionalism, she was more than satisfied with the starters she had received.
When dismissed, Gwen nodded in agreement. "If nothing else, you can look forward to another set of Anorith from me at least. I'll be seeing you again." Gwen assured her, before she turned toward the door and made her exit. Things had gotten off to a rocky start at the lab, but somehow her day had improved immensely since. It turned out to be a good first day as a mercenary trainer after all. -----
