Jayson "jay" Scorvol
16 | Male | Claims Straight (Though likely Bisexual) |
Survivor | Explorer | The ambassador |
appearance
Jay is a sturdy, yet somewhat scrawny young man. His build is about average for his age, at 5'5 and around 115 pounds. His skin is a shut in shade of pale. As for his eyes, they're a lively hazel.
Hair wise, it's...feminine to say the least, being about chin length in all it's orange, scruffy glory. It's often pinned up and back slightly by the goggles he wears.
Jay's stance is relativity lax, his shoulders usually slacked unless he's tense or angry.

clothing
everyday Jay is usually seen in relatively casual clothing. More often than not a purple hoodie with a white t-shirt underneath, a pair of comfy cargo pants, and sneakers. He also wears a pair of flyer's goggles and a bandanna, a top his head and around his neck respectively. | formal Fortunately for the dress clothes hating Jay, he didn't pack any of the sort. What kinda survivor dresses like that anyways? |

< Why this lovely thing of course!
personality
Blunt, confident, and generally light-hearted, Jay is a rather mischievous boy. Pranking, teasing, and spooking are his specialty. This could be why some write him off as an immature brat that just needs to grow up, or just some creepy weirdo.
Though he is somewhat anti social, none of his playful prodding or button pushing is ever meant to be ill spirited or malicious. He just wants to have a bit of fun is all. It's not his fault people don't know how to laugh sometimes!
However just because he's not good at socializing doesn't mean he dislikes company. In fact, he can get lonely pretty quickly.
But despite this childish lies a justice driven young man, whom would stick his neck out for anyone he thinks highly of. Person or Pokemon. Domestic or Feral. His temper can also grow fiery if something ticks him off.

the backstory
Born about nine years after humans arrived on Mi-aro, Jay had always been naive to the tragedy that struck Earth. New Pallet has been the only home he's ever known, where he lived with his mother Janet, his father James, and his uncle Maxwell. Three researchers whom have since dedicated themselves to studying the new and strange world.
He did however grow up hearing stories about those whom narrowly made it out with their lives. About how Earth had been consumed by fire, and how many were left behind on the doomed planet.
Though in his young age, the boy was more concerned about what was beyond the borders of his home settlement rather than past events. Why fuss over something that didn't involve him anyway?
Instead, he focused on the borders of New Pallet, curiously gazing over the landscape in wonder of what was out there. There were only two settlements, after all. There was an entire planet to explore! Places where mankind had yet to set foot or see. The very thought filled the young Jay with glee, for one day he believed he'd see the unseen.
As he grew older, his more mischievous side began to develop. Around the time Jay turned nine, his caretakers had decided to invest in getting a Pokemon to keep around the house to keep Jay company, since they were usually busy with their research.
While they originally bargained for something like a Pachirisu, or a Glameow, they ended up with something a bit...unexpected.
They're purchase ended up being a Misdreavus, whom was quickly named Eerie by Jay.
From that moment on, the two were partners in crime. Pulling the pranks of the century (at least in their eyes) on the settlers of New Pallet.
However, as Jay hung out more and more with Eerie, he became alienated by his peers. Well...more like he alienated them, as he was much more content to hang out with his Screech Pokemon pal.
Going on to the adults of the house, Jay's parents were an efficient pair. Their similar goals made lab work a breeze. Uncle Maxwell however, always seemed slightly off. Ever since the incident, he seemed distant, cold even. Always pondering something no one really knew about. When he did speak, his words told of putting Pokemon and people on the same level. Maybe then...they wouldn't have to worry.
Two years ago, Maxwell got up and just left. No goodbyes, no word on where he was going. Nothing. His reason for leaving was completely alien to Jay, and would not only perplex him, but only fuel his desire to travel.
Now what he sees as a fully grown young man, Jay feels he's ready to leave the nest. Though it would take a good deal of pleading and negotiating, he would eventually be allowed to leave and start on his journey to not only explore, but maybe...just maybe find his uncle.
