~ SERAPHINA ~ Sera breathed a sigh of relief as the last PokeBall dinged. "Well that should make a dent in the swarm," she snarked with a grin. As she went to retrieve her balls, she finally noticed Jigglypuff, stopping in her tracks and blinking for a few seconds before resuming both her movement and grin. "Oh hey, congratz~"
"Ji... Puff." Uh... Thanks, replied the puffball. That hadn't been quite the reaction she'd expected, but she supposed congratulations were appropriate. Shifting to a little smile of her own, she twisted and stretched around a bit, getting used to her new, more capable body. She also noted her hearing had improved a bit, given external ears amplifying and directing the sound. If she remembered her kin correctly, they were also pretty adorable. Jigglypuff was quite okay with all of this~
"You're not half-bad," Sera noted to Gwen with a smirk. That was probably a compliment. Mostly.
She then made her way toward Diglett and Pinkie, who were busy celebrating together. This was the really amiable Diglett, and although he may not have been her first choice otherwise, Sera thought he might be easier to tame than his more battle-centric friend (brother? cousin? father, son, uncle- whatever, the other Diglett). Through him, hopefully she'd be able to handle other ferals better in the future. And since Pinkie seemed to have such a liking for him, she hoped that would go ahead and help out even before fully taming. "You guys did such a great job~!" she praised, kneeling down once she was about a foot outside of root's reach, keeping just enough hopefully-respectful distance and doing her best to project feelings of exaltations into her words. "You work so very well together~!"

| Though Sakura held the Anorith for Igglybuff to give it a nice clean shot, it seemed the pink balloon-ball was preoccupied. Instead the Anorith ended up slipping out of her grip as it was absorbed into Sera's poke ball, causing her jaws to snap shut on empty air. With nothing else left to battle, Sakura turned to her trainer. "Ma-Mawile?" She asked, frowning apologetically.
With the battle over and nothing else attacking them for the time being, Gwen slid down the wall to sit on the ground as she pulled off her boot. Blood seeped from a small gash, but it wasn't serious. Looking up at Sera and responded, disregarding whatever meaning was behind the trainer's words beyond being a compliment. "You weren't bad yourself. Uhh... You wouldn't happen to have a bandaid or something I could use would you?" She asked. She had yet to get herself a first aid kit, which she probably should have done by then.
Gwen then glanced at Sakura. "It's not that bad." Gwen assured the mawile. At least she had fairly nice boots, or at least, were nice. It probably would have been a hair bit more than just 'not that bad' if she had been wearing sneakers or heels or whatever crap people wore to look nice. Right now Gwen was more concerned about getting her boots back in reasonable condition before any real damage could be done to her foot.

~ SERAPHINA ~ Sera cocked her head a bit at the question. "Oh, sure," she chimed. A subtle undertone meant to imply 'why wouldn't she? Any decent trainer would.' She retrieved her own First Aid Kit from her bag and tossed it to Gwen before retrieving Pinkie and Diglett's PokeBalls. "Time to rest for a while. We'll get you guys all fixed up before we head out again, too~" With that she recalled them and considered Igg-- Jigglypuff.
"What do you think? Wanna head to the lab with me or rest a while?" Sera asked. Glancing over at the other Pokemon-- one that would flatten her and one that still at least resisted her best moves-- Jigglypuff decided she'd rather not hang around too long.
"...Puff," she resigned, indicating Sera's bag.
Sera nodded. "All right." Upon recalling her, Sera decided she did not care for having no Pokemon to Gwen's two, and unleashed Chikorita. Type disadvantage or no, it was something. "Hey~ You wanna head to the Lab with me?" Chikorita looked up, unsure just what had gone on here, but shrugged and accepted.

| "Thanks." Gwen said, catching the first aid kit and removing a couple band-aids from the box. Though there was some antiseptic wipes in the box as well, she decided not to infringe on Sera's generosity any more than required. She'd get the wound properly cleaned up once she reached an inn.
Once the band-aids were applied and her footwear returned, Gwen got back to her feet and handed the first aid kit back to Sera. "We better be off then. What ever remains of those Anorith won't catch themselves. Good luck to you." said Gwen as she turned to leave, only casting a brief glance at Sera's Chikorita, before turning to her own pokemon. "You both are getting better with each battle. Time to rest." She told Sakura and Ignis before returning both to their poke balls, and continuing on her way down the street toward the nearest Inn.

~ SERAPHINA ~ "Hm. You too then," Sera shrugged when Gwen wished her luck. She wasn't quite sure what to make of the woman at this point, so whatever. She put the First Aid Kit away again after making sure she didn't have anything worse than a few scratches and what would probably become a bit of bruising herself.
Grinning back at Chikorita, she asked, "Have you missed our dear friend the Professor~?"
<We just... saw him...?> Chikorita mumbled. Sera madly giggled in response and raced in the direction of the lab, cloak flowing behind her. Although Sera wasn't particularly damaged, she would need to repair a few knicks in her cloak. ...Again.
So did she..? ... Whatever. Chikorita didn't think she'd ever be sure when Sera was being serious and when she was just digging for reactions. Still, she supposed she could have done worse in a trainer.. She could live with this. She'd just have to learn to roll with it.
She raced to get caught up with her trainer, and after some time and at least one avoided battle- Sera deciding the Pokemon was common/uninteresting enough that she could make up the experience some other time and it wasn't worth delaying her visit further- the girls arrived at the Lab. Stepping in, Sera grinned to the same receptionist she'd seen a few days ago when she'd first gotten Chikorita. "Hello~ I believe the professor is expecting me~" It was funny because she could imagine the deja vu poor Darcy was feeling.

The receptionist raised a rather curious eyebrow at the woman. She was... just.... why was the loud, flirty lady back? Quercus was going to looooove this. With a hesitant nod the assistant walked Sera back to Oak's personal lab - the place where she received her Pokemon - and made a very quick exit.
The area was just as messy as before.. There were still some pokeballs from her last visit that dotted the space. Perhaps Oak should invest in a maid. Hm. Sera stood in place for a good thirty seconds before Quercus flew in out of nowhere to greet her, and I do mean 'flew.' A cable ran from the man's back to the ceiling of the room, which was odd because there was nothing at the top of the room. How did he do that..? And better yet, why did he do that? "SERA! You're here!" he shouted, not three feet away from her face. Without explaining his contraption he lowered himself just enough to look her dead in the eyes, "I need a full report. Everything you know about the new species. From what your X-Gear has registered as it moves to how it interacts with foreign organisms." Then, with a sudden burst of excitement he bounced up again. "And then I want to see them!"
This find was obviously a very big deal to Professor Oak. Of course, it wasn't everyday that a new species of Pokemon was discovered. The older man's eyes lit with a childish enthusiasm that would've been difficult to say 'no' to, not that Sera would decline the leader's request, but still.

~ SERAPHINA ~ Sera jumped back, startled, as the man zipped into the room. Chikorita, unfortunately, did not find it strange and could only sigh. <You'll... get used to it...> Sera quirked an eyebrow, but then chuckled softly and shook her head.
She began explaining everything from her initial encounter to Pinkie's performance against the Anorith to her suspicions on its typings. After that, she paused to think a moment, then shrugged before releasing the male. "This one got knocked out earlier, so it shouldn't put up much fight." Indeed, no longer than it had been able to rest, the Pokemon was only barely shifting in and out of consciousness at best. "So what do you think?"

Without a word, the mysterious Oak lowered to his knees and scooped up the small, pink creature. His eyes wide with the eagerness of discovery, he examined the native species that seemed oh so foreign. Using only the tip of his thumb, Oak brushed the very short, soft pink fur of the creature. Then, he moved to the creature's proboscis, "Mmm.." The back of his fingers rubbed the drill-type thing. Oak's countenance changed to a rather shocked one, but he didn't share the reason with Sera. Finally, he made his way to the antennae. Barely applying pressure, Oak attempted to hold the antennae with his index and thumb, but immediately recoiled. "Very interesting," he purred as he placed his index in his mouth, it seemed to be bleeding a bit.
Then, without warning, the impulsive creature Oak flew up to the top of the room and dropped the creature. It dropped about halfway before its tiny drill began to spin and it hovered down to about a foot off the ground. Quercus followed it to the floor, and murmured to himself, "One more test.." Oak released the cable and fell to his knees and coaxed the Pokemon's drill to the concrete floor below it. Suddenly, the creature's glazed eyes opened with a look of natural enchantment. "Pik ik!" it shouted as if suddenly revitalized. The creature began to drill through the concrete. Oak's own eyes began to light up with the creature's. Before it could get too far down its precise hole, Quercus tapped it on the head with a pencil, which caused it to fall unconscious.
"Alright!" Oak announced as he pulled the creature out and handed it to Sera. "So here's what I've gathered," he declared as he pulled out a notepad to write on, "the Pokemon itself has a very soft makeup, but its appendages are all the exact opposite. I assume the proboscis is made from keratin as it's quite smooth but also very tough. Now, the drill... " he paused to raise an eyebrow, "it's made out of some sort of.. metal? However it's not anything I'm familiar with that occurs on any other Pokemon ." Oak scribbled a little something in his notepad, but all Sera could see was that he wrote 'get Cera to -' then he continued. "His antennae, they're made similarly to the antennae of other Bug Pokemon, but look here," the professor pulled out a magnifying glass from a pocket in his lab coat and magnified the creature's 'roots.' "You see these hairs? Well they're more like minuscule needles that act as hair, and they're pointed toward the top rather than the bottom. That's what makes it such a powerful weapon.
"Based on what you told me of its attacks, and regarding my earlier hovering test, I think we can safely assume that the creature is a Fairy type Pokemon. We can't say for sure that it has another type, but the only way we'll know is to test out its type advantages." Oak's expression flipped to a little under disappointed, "Unfortunately, the Pokemon's defense is - well, to put it frankly - shit. So you'll have to think of another idea for that. My suggestion is discover the type of its whip move, as that seems to be one of its signature abilities. The Dex hasn't recognized it as a Vine Whip, but that's still perfectly possible."
Quercus finally nodded to Sera. "Honestly we'll learn more about this Pokemon by you observing it and testing it in battle, there's only so much that I can do here." He leaned in to examine the fairy in the Mercenary's hands. "But I would still love to examine this creature closer.." Oak pulled back and snapped his fingers. "Oh right! You discovered the little fairy, so you get to name it!"

~ SERAPHINA ~ As Oak lifted the little creature, Sera managed to get out a hesitant "Wh-?" before it was dropped, and she flinched hard. The hovering WAS fascinating, but. Holy shit professor it's already really injured could you not.. She did not say this aloud, however, just grimacing instead.
She was a little underwhelmed by the new information provided; she didn't know why, but she really expected him to know a lot more than she did, and while the comparisons to the makeup of other Pokemon were fascinating it wasn't really what she'd come hoping to learn. Ah well.
When he told Sera she could name the species, she quirked an eyebrow. "Really?" It was not an excited or humbled really, but an 'are you kidding me', somewhat disappointed really. Some Pokemon didn't make very clear vocalizations, like those that mostly gutturally roared or made little squeaks, and some had vocalizations a bit more complex than their names or combining descriptives with their cries, like Butterfree rather than Free-e-e-ee-e-ee. But this thing was clearly saying something in that test. It would make no sense for her to name it Fluffroot when it was saying 'pik'-something.
Sighing, Sera put on a reluctant smile. "All right then. Let's ask it its name." She'd rather hoped the professor would have a better way of doing this, but oh well. First, she brought out the dancy Diglett, releasing him over the hole his friend had dug so as to give him a place to hide his lower body. Wouldn't want to impose too much on his privacy.
"Diglett~" it chimed, then looked around confused. Huh. This place was weird. Who was that. What was that? Was that the same species as the red creature? Was it its evolved form? It didn't seem unfriendly. D: But oh no there was a friend it looked hurt! ...Had it seen that one hurt before? Well it was still hurt now! "Dig dig!" it whimpered, distressed and indicating the unconscious pink Pokemon.
Sera looked down to Diglett and smiled warmly. "Don't worry, we're going to fix it~" She knew her tone had a better chance of comforting than her words, but it was never going to get used to her language without exposure. Looking to Chikorita a little more seriously, she warned, "Help keep guard." Chikorita nodded.
With that, Sera took out her one lonely potion and began to apply it to the creature's wounds. She hoped the positive healing feeling combined with seeing a familiar face in Diglett upon it waking would keep it from panicking, at least. "Let's see if we can get it to vocalize.." she mumbled as much to herself as everyone else.

The pixie upon awakening immediately found Diglett, wrapped its antennae around the mole, and pulled himself to his friend. "Pyui kik ik!" it cried as it clung to the familiar face. Its mouth penetrated the brown creature's back. Diglett looked entirely alright with this, although it looked a little ridiculous with a pink fluffball now attached to its back. "Fascinating..." The Professor grinned with this development. His face suddenly scrunched to a more focused countenance.
"Now hold up..." Oak invited Sera to join him on floor with a wave before he continued, "This Pokemon.. it's a parasite! Of course, the relationship seems to be symbiotic, but truly, this creature is feeding off of the Diglett's life force!" The professor looked to Sera, "Sera, think about all of the parasites from the old planet, what were they normally classified as?" not giving Sera a true chance to respond, "They're either bugs or bacterium. Do you know what this means?" Quercus suddenly shot up with excitement and began doing a sort of.. dance.. thing. He should not do that. Nope. "This Pokemon is either a secondary bug - or could be a completely new type!" His excitement dwindled after a few moments and he respoke, "But that's very unlikely."
He looked to the creature who wasn't really making anymore sound at this point, then back to Sera. "I don't think it'll be saying much more for now.." Oak allowed his lip to pout a bit before continuing his ramble, "So we can hold off on the name until you find its natural call." The Professor nodded, "I would suggest writing all the information you find in a Data Log, that way you can earn money and have true recognition for this." He shrugged. "Sure you're not a Researcher, but money is money am I right?"
